Ordinance No. 703ORDINANCE NO. 703 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE ENSUING FISCAL YEAR, BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1963, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1964, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARTER AND ORDINAN- CES OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUB- LICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE. WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Baytown has submitted to the City Council a budget estimate of the revenues of said City and the expenses of conduct- ing the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning October 1, 1963, and ending the 30th day of September, 1964, and which said estimate has been compiled from detailed information obtained from the several departments, divisions and offices of the City, containing all the information as required by the Charter of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, the City Council has received said City Manager's estimate and held a public hearing thereon so provided by Section 44 of the Charter; and WHEREAS, after a full and final consideration of the public hearing, it is the opinion of the Council that the budget as filed should be approved and adopted, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: That the budget estimate of the revenues of the City of Baytown and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning October 1, 1963, and ending September 30, 1964, as submitted to the City Council by the City Manager of said City be, and the same is, in all things adopted and approved as the budget estimate of all the current expenses as well as the fixed charges against said City for the fiscal year beginning the 1st day of October, 1963, and ending the 30th day of September, 1964. Section 2: That the sum of One Million Seven Hundred and Eighteen Thousand No Hundred Eighty -Three and No /100 ($1,718,083,00) Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund for the payment of Operating Expenses and Capital Outlay of the City Government as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: General Government $ 406,976.00 Public Safety 502,618.00 Highways 494,294.00 Sanitation & Waste Removal 139,.457.00 Conservation of Health 31,636.00 Recreation 40,773.00 Miscellaneous 102,329._00 Total $ 1,7.16,083.00 Section 3: That the sum of Seven Hundred and Forty -Two Thousand Three Hundred Ninety - Fight and No /100 ($742,398.00) Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the Water Works for the operating expenses and capital outlay of the municipally owned Water Works as herein- after itemized, to --wit: Supply $ 76, 936.00 Transmission & Distribution 286,521.00 Customers' Accounting and Collecting 91,416.00 Stores - 2.4_,655.00 Contingency Fund 15,000.00 Sewers & Sewage Disposal � 141,116.00 Water Works Interest & Sinking Fund 106,554,00 Total $___742,_398.00 Section 4: That the sum of Three Hundred and Sixteen Thousand Five Hundred Fifteen and No /100 ($316,515.00) Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the General Interest and Sinking Fund for the purpose of paying the accruing interest and redeeming the Serial Bonds, as they mature, on the General Debt Service Bonds as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: Serial Bond Maturities $ 146,000.00 Interest Payments 170,013.00 Exchange 502.00 Total $ 316,515.00 Section 5: That the sum of One Hundred and Ten Thousand Eight Hundred Nine and No /100 ($110,809.00) Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the Water Works Interest and Sinking Funds for the purpose of paying the accruing interest and redeeming the Serial Bonds, as they mature, on the Water Works Debt Service Bonds as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: Serial Bond Maturities Interest Payments Exchange Bond Reserve Fund Contingency Fund $ 55,500.00 44.452.00_ 260.00 3.237.00 �- 7,- 36000 Total $ 110,809.00 Section 6: This ordinance shall be and remain in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval of the City Council, and it shall be published once each week for two consecutive weeks in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown.
