ORDINANCE N0. 685
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAYTOWN ABOLISHING THE BAYTOWN
ADVISORY BOARD; COMMENDING EACH AND EVERY
MEMBER WHO HAS SERVED ON SAID BOARD AND
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO
SEND A LETTER TO EACH MEMBER OF SUCH
BOARD COMMENDING AND THANKING HIM FOR
HIS SERVICES WHILE A MEMBER OF SUCH BOARD
WHEREAS, the City Council 'of the City of Baytown, pursuant to
State Law, created the Baytown Advisory Board on the 12th day of Jan-
uary, 1%1; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is now of the opinion that the services
of the Baytown Advisory Board are no longer needed; [NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That the Advisory Board of the City of Baytown is
hereby and herewith abolished for all intents and purposes and hence-
forth, such Board, collectively or individually, shall cease having any
legal sanctity for and in such City.
Section 2: That the Honorable C. L. (Lee) Liggett, Mayor of the
City of Baytown, is hereby authorized and directed to send a letter to
each person who has served on the Baytown Advisory Board, thanking and
commending him for the services donated to this community.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by a majority of the members of the
City Council on this the 13th day of June, 1963.
