Ordinance No. 657ORDINANCE No, __657 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE ENSUING FISCAL YEAR, BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1962, AND END- ING SEPTEMBER 30, 1963, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARTER AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDIN- ANCE. WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Baytown has submitted to the City Council a budget estimate of the revenues of said City and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning Octo- ber 1, 1962, and ending the 30th day of September, 1963, and which said estim- ate has been compiled from detailed information obtained from the several de- partments, divisions and offices of the City, containing all the information as required by the Charter of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, the City Council has received said City Manager's estimate and held a public hearing thereon so provided by Section 44 of the Charter; and WHEREAS, after a full and final consideration of the public hearing, it is the opinion of the Council that the budget as filed should be approved and adopted, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1; That the budget estimate of the revenues of the City of Baytown and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning October 1, 1962, and ending September 30, 1963, as sub- mitted to the City Council by the City Manager of said City be, and the same is, in all things adopted and approved as the budget estimate of all the cur- rent expenses as well as the fixed charges against said City for the fiscal year beginning the 1st day of October, 1962, and ending the 30th day of Sept- ember, 1963. Section 2: That the sum of One Million Five Hundred and Forty Thousand Two Hundred Ninety -One and No /100 ($1,540,291.00) Dollars is hereby appro- priated out of the General Fund for the payment of Operating Expenses and Capital Outlay of the City Government as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: General Government Public Safety Highways & Roadways Waste Removal Conservation of Health Recreation Miscellaneous Total $ 334,842.00 420,205.00 434,776.00 167,082.00 42,895.00 38,536.00 101.955.00 1,540.h291.00 Section 3: That the sum of Five Hundred and Fifty -Nine Thousand Seven Hundred Nineteen and No /100 ($559,719.00) Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the Water and Sewer Works for the Operating Expenses and Capital Outlay of the municipally owned Water and Sewer Works as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: Supply $ 70,626.00 Transmission C Distribution 135,849.00 Customer's Accounting & Collecting 71,682.00 Stores 23,523.00 Contingency Fund 25,561.00 Sewers & Sewage Disposal 121,076.00 Water Works Interest & Sinking Fund -1111202.00 Total $ 559.719.00 Section 4: That the sum of Two Hundred and Seven Thousand Six Hundred and Seventy -Four and No /100 ($207,674.00) Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the General Interest and Sinking Fund for the purpose of paying the accru- ing interest and redeeming the Serial Bonds, as they mature, on the General Debt Service Bonds as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: Serial Bond Maturities $ 121,000.00 Interest Payments 86,334.00 Exchange 340.00 Total L= 207 674.00 Section 5: That the sum of One Hundred and Fourteen Thousand Four Hun- dred and Forty and No /100 ($114,440.00) Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the Water and Sewer Works Interest and Sinking Funds for the purpose of paying the accruing interest and redeeming the Serial Bonds, as they mature, on the Water Works Debt Service Bonds as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: Serial Bond Maturities Interest Payments Exchange Bond Reserve Fund Contingency Fund Total $ 50,000.00 45,244.00 271.00 12,925.00 6,000.00 $ 114,440.00 Section 6: This ordinance shall be and remain in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval of the City Council, and it shall be published once each week for two consecutive weeks in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown.
