AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE ENSUING
FISCAL YEAR, BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1%1, AND END-
ING SEPTEMBER 30, 1%2, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
CHARTER AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN;
AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDIN-
ANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Baytown has submitted to the City
Council a budget estimate of the revenues of said City and the expenses of conduct-
ing the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning October 1, 1961, and
• ending the 30th day of September, 1962, and which said estimate has been compiled
from detailed information obtained from the several departments, divisions and
offices of the City, containing all the information as required by the Charter of
the City of Baytown; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has received said City Manager's estimate and held
a public hearing thereon so provided by Section 44 of the Charter; and
WHEREAS, after a full and final consideration of the public hearing, it is
the opinion of the Council that the budget as filed should be approved and adopted,
NOW, THEREFORE,
• BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That the budget estimate of the revenues of the City of Baytown
and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, be-
ginning October 1, 1961, and ending September 30, 1962, as submitted to the City
Council by the City Manager of said City be, and the same is, in all things adopted
and approved as the budget estimate of all of the current expenses as well as the
fixed charges against said City for the fiscal year beginning the 1st day of Octo-
ber, 1961, and ending the 30th day of September, 1962.
Section 2: That the sum of One Million Three Hundred & Nine Thousand Four
Hundred Forty -Eight and No/100 ($1,309,448.00) Dollars is hereby appropriated out
• of the General Fund for the payment of Operating Expenses and Capital Outlay of
the City Government as hereinafter itemized, to -wit:

Works for the operating expenses and capital outlay of the municipally owned Water
and Sewer Works as hereinafter itemized, to -wit:

Section 6: This ordinance shall be and remain in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval of the City Council, and it shall be published
once each week for two consecutive weeks in some newspaper published in the City
of Baytown.
