Ordinance No. 611• • • ORDINANCE NO. 611, AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING OFFICERS TO CONDUCT SPECIAL CITY LIBRARY BOND ELECTION; AND PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS ADOPTION THE STATE OF TEXAS § COUNTY OF HARRIS § The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, convened in regular session at the City Hall within said City on the 8th day of September, 1960, with the following members present, to -wit: R. H. Pruitt Mayor Mrs. Velma J. Ansley Councilman Kenneth E. Badgett Councilman Seaborn Cravey Councilman Roy H. Hughes Councilman Lacy Lusk Councilman Walter Lane Ward Councilman Edna Oliver City Clerk and the following member(s) absent, to -wit: none , when, among other business, the following was transacted: The Mayor introduced an ordinance which was read in full. Councilman Ansley made a motion that the ordinance bq;4 adopted as read. Councilman Badgett seconded the motion, for adoption of the ordinance. The motion, carrying with it the adoption of the ordinance, prevailed by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Ansley, Badgett, Cravey, Hughes, Lusk, Ward, and Mayor Pruitt. NOES: None. The Mayor thereupon announced that the ordinance had been duly­" and lawfully adopted. The ordinance thus adopted follows: i t ORDINANCE NO. 611 ® AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING OFFICERS TO CONDUCT SPECIAL CITY LIBRARY BOND ELECTION; AND PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM AND AFTER.ITS ADOPTION WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, by Ordinance adopted on the 25th day of August, 1960, called an election to be held in and throughout said City on the 20th day of September, 1960, at which election there is to be submitted to the duly qualified electors of said City who own taxable property within said City and who have duly rendered the same for taxation, for their action there- upon, the proposition of the issuance of $350,000 bonds of said City and the levy of taxes in payment thereof, said bonds to be issued for the purpose of constructing and equipping a municipal building, to -wit: a City Library Building, including the purchase of the neces- sary site therefor; and WHEREAS, in said ordinance the City Council designated the voting places in the respective election precincts of said City, and ap- pointed officers to conduct said election; and WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City Council that • certain of the officers appointed in said ordinance will be unable to serve at said election, and the City Council wishes to appoint other persons to serve in such capacity; Therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: That at the City Library Bond election to be held in and throughout the City of Baytown, Texas, on the 20th day of September, 1960, the following named persons are hereby appointed officers to conduct said election at the polling places in the indi- cated election precincts of said City (in lieu of the persons ap- pointed in the ordinance adopted by the City Council on the 25th day of August, 1960), to -wit: -2- I• i Prec.
