Ordinance No. 590I� • • • • ORDINANCE NO.- % L' AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, "ADOPTING THE TEXAS STATE REGULATIONS FOR MEAT AND POULTRY INSPECTION WITHIN THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; PROVIDING THAT ALL MEAT AND POULTRY SOLD WITHIN THE CITY OF BAYTOWN MUST FIRST BE INSPECTED AND APPROVED BY EITHER FEDERAL OR STATE INSPECTIONS; PROVIDING FOR ABATTOIR PERMITS; PROVID- ING FOR FACILITIES FOR INSPECTION; REGULATING THE TRANSPORTA- TION OF MEAT AND POULTRY; EXCEPTING FEDERAL AND STATE ESTAB- LISHMENTS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDI- NANCE; INCLUDING A FINE OF NOT LESS THAN TEN ($10.00) DOLLARS NOR MORE THAN TWO HUNDRED ($200.00) DOLLARS; REPEALING ORDIN- ANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH; AND CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, "BEING ORDINANCE NO. 571, PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN ON THE 28TH DAY OF JANUARY, 1960, BY AMENDING SECTION FOUR (4) THEREOF BY ADDING STATE APPROVED ESTABLISH- MENTS THERETO, AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 571 was passed by the City Council of the City of Baytown, on January 28, 1960; and WHEREAS, such Ordinance is generally referred to as the Meat Inspection Ordinance; and WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable to make an amendment to Section Four (4) of said Ordinance No. 571, NOW, THEREFORE, -- BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section I: That said Ordinance No. 571, is hereby amended by adding thereto "State Approved Establishments" - and as amended shall read as follows: "Section 4: Federal State and State Approved Establishments Excepted: Any official establishment within the City of Baytown, at which inspection is now or hereafter maintained by the Bureau of Animal Industry of the Depart- ment of Agriculture of the United States Government, under the Meat Inspeut-io Act and other applicable Laws and Federal regulations, or by the Veterinary Division of the Texas State Department of Public Health, or State Approved establishment, is excepted from the provisions of this Ordinance." Section II: That all the terms and provisions of the said Ordinance No. 571, passed by the City Council of the City of Baytown on the 28th day of January, 1960, are hereby continued in full force and effect and any person violating any of the terms of the Ordinance shall be subject to the penalties provided therein. Section III: Effective Date: This Ordinance shall take effect on June 1, 1960, The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the cap- tion of this Ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown, at least twice within Ten (10) days after the passage of this Ordinance.
