ORDINANCE N0. 442
AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATE AND TAX LEVY FOR THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTBIBER 30,
1958, UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY IN SAID CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, IN CONFORMITY IMH THE LAM OF TEXAS AND THE CHAMM
PROVISIONS AND THE ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY; AND REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES INUCONFLICT HEWVITH
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY_OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That..there_shall._be and is hereby levied and shall be assessed and
collected for_ the year ending September. 30, 1958_, an _ ad valorem_ tax of One and. 72 /100
($1.72) Dollars on each One Hundred ($ 100.00) Dollars _worth_of_.property.located within
the present City.limits of the-City of_Baytown. made taxable_by law, which said taxes
when collected shall be apportioned among- the__funds and departments_of City Government
of the 'City of Baytown., and -for the purpose hereinafter set forth as follows, to -wit:
For the General Fund. $1.52
For the purpose- of_ paying__the. ac-
cruing interest.,and to provide._a
sinking_fund for the payment of the
bonded indebtedness of the City of
Baytown.
Section 2: The ad valorem tax rate of One and 72/100 ($1.72) Dollars as set forth
in.Section 1, above, 'is hereby_levied.and. shall be_assessed and collected on only Fifty
(50A') percent of each One Hundred,_( $ 1.00,00) Dollars worth of property located within
Baytown as valued by the Equalization Board for the City of Baytown, and made taxable
by law.
Section 3: The.City.Tax Assessor and Collector -of the City of Baytown is hereby
directed to_.assess.,..extend. and_.enter upon the tax. rolls of the City of Baytown, Texas,
for the Current Year, the_.amounts_and rates herein levied ..and keep a correct account
of same, and when so collected., the.same__to be deposited_in the depository of the City
of Baytown,.to be distributed in_ accordance with this - ordinance.
Section 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are expressly
repealed.
READ, ADORED and APPROVED by the affirmative.vote of a majority of the City Coun-
cil of the_City of Baytown,.Texas, at a regular meeting held at the City Hall on the
12th day of September, 1957.
