RE- ANNEXING TERRITORY; RATIFYING ANNEXATION, TAKING OVER PRO -
PEIITIES AND ASSETS OF WATER DISTRICTS, AND ASSUMPTION OF DEBTS
AND LIABILITIES AND OBLIGATIONS OF WATER DISTRICTS; RE- ANNEXING
TERRITORY, RE- TAKING OVER PROPERTIES AND ASSETS, AND REASSUM-
ING SUCH DEBTS , LIABILITIES, AND OBLIGATIONS; AND PROVIDING THAT
THIS ORDINANCE SHALL. TAKE EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS ADOPTION.

The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, convened in special
session at the City hall within said City on the 12th day of April, 1957, with
the following members present, to -wit:

The Mayor introduced an Ordinance which was read in full. Council-
man Lusk made a motion that the Ordinance be adopted as- rend. The motion for
adoption was seconded by Councilman Mears, and carried by the following vote:

ING SUCH DEBTS, LIABILITIES 'AND OBLIGATIONS; AND PROVIDING THAT
THIS ORDINANCE SHALL' TAKE E • FECr FROM AND AFTER ITS ADOPTION
WHEREAS, by Ordinances duly adopted in accordance-with law and
Charter provisions, the governing body of the City of Pelly and of the City
of Baytown (being successor City to-the City of Pelly) annexed territories
and has extended the boundaries of the City to include all the territory of
the following named Rater Districts, to -wit:
(1) Harris County Fresh-Water Supply (Tri - Cities) District
No. 2.

(2) Harris County Water Control and Improvement District
No. 7.
(3) Harris County Fresh Water Supply District No. 10 - and
(4) Harris County Water Control and Improvement District
No. 30, ,
and has taken over all the properties and assets of said Districts, has as-
sumed all the debts and liabilities and obligations of said Districts, and has
abolished such Districts; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown wishes to define
the boundaries of said City as the same now exists; THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That the boundaries of the City of Baytown are, and shall
be, those defined as follows, and all territories not included in the original
boundary lines in the City of Pelly (the City of Baytown being successor City
of said City of Pelly) are hereby re- annexed so that said boundaries of the
City of Baytown are, and shall be, as follows:
The corporate limits of the City consists of
the description contained below under A less
the description contained below under B.
BEGINNING at the point of intersection of the South property line
of Roseland Park with the mean high tide line of the West bank of Cedar Bayou
Stream;
THENCE, from the point of beginning, in a Northwesterly direction
with the South line of Roseland Park to the Southeast corner of a 65.897 acre
tract of land formerly owned by Rosa Kilgore, said point being the same as
described as Point No. 14 in Ordinance No. 1 of the consolidated City of Pelly,
now the City.of Baytown;
THENCE, in a Northwesterly direction along the South line of said
65.897 acre Rosa Kilgore tract to the Southwest corner of said tract, said
corner being located in the East right -of -way line of the Tri- Cities Beach Road;
and continuing in the same direction, over and across Tri - Cities Beach Road to
the Southeast corner of a 24.351 acre.tract owned by Bessie J. Busch, and others;
THENCE, continuing Northwesterly with the South line of the Bessie J.
Busch 24.351 acre tract to a line which is parallel to and 200 feet from the
East right- of-way line of State Highway 9146,
THENCE, Southerly and Westerly with a line,which is parallel to and
a distance of 200 feet from the East and South right- of-way line of State High-
way No. 146 to the intersection of said line with the East property line of a
4.52 acre tract of land out of the M, Scott Lower League owned or formerly
owned by Mrs. Annie E. Busch;
THENCE, Southerly with the East line of the abovementioned Annie E.
Busch tract to the Southeast corner of said tract, said Southeast corner being
the same point described as Point No, 3 in Ordinance No. 1 of the consolidated
City of Pelly, now the City of Baytown;
THENCE, Westerly with the South line of the abovementioned Annie E.
Busch tract, and continuing with the South line of the W. B. Tabb 4.516 acre
tract, said South line also being the North line of the 80 acre tract owned or
formerly owned by Mrs. Anna A. Wright, and continuing with the North line of
the said Anna A. Wright tract to a lipe which is parallel to and 200 feet from
the South right -of -way line of State Highway No. 146.

THENCE, Westerly with a line parallel to and 200 feet from the South
right -of -way line of State Highway No. 146 to the West line of the Wm. Scott
Lower League;
THENCE, Southerly with the West line of the Wm. Scott Lower League,
said line also being the East line of the Harvey Whiting Survey, to the most
Southerly Southeast corner of the Harvey Whiting Survey, said point being the
same point as described as Point No. 1 in Ordinance No. 1 of the consolidated
City of Pelly, now the City of Baytown;

a line parallel to and 200 feet from the South right -of -way line of State High-

Northeasterly shore of Black Duck Bay;
THENCE, Northerly and Westerly with the mean high tide line of the
shore of Black Duck Bay to the point of intersection of said line on the North-
erly shore of Black Duck Bay with a line which is parallel to,and 2500 feet
from the center line of San Jacinto River, being the Houston Ship Channel;
THENCE, Northerly and Westerly with a line that is parallel to and
2500,feet from the center line df the San Jacinto River, being the Houston Ship
Channel, to the mean high tide line of the Easterly Shore of Scott Bay;
THENCE, Northerly and Westerly with the mean high tide line of the
Easterly and Northerly shore of Scott Bay to the point of intersection of said
line with the Easterly line of the Bay Villa Subdivision;
THENCE, North 31 degrees 46' East along the Easterly line of Bay Villa
Subdivision to the Westerly right -of -way line of Market Street Road;
THENCE, Northwesterly with the Westerly right -of -way line of Market
Street Road to a Southwesterly extension of the Rest line of the Humble Oil
and Refining Company property;
THENCE, Northeasterly to the Southwest corner of said Humble Oil and
Refining Company property and continuing Northeasterly along the West line of
said Humble Oil & Refining Company property over and across the Cedar Bayou -
Wooster Road to the North right -of -way line of said Cedar Bayou - Wooster Road,
being the Southeast corner of the Sweeney Subdivision;
THENCE, Northeasterly along the East line of the Sweeney Subdivision
to corner, being the Southwesterly corner of the Steinman tract, now known as
the C. A. Fortner 38 acre tract;
THENCE Southeasterly along the South line of said Steinman tract to
the Southeasterly corner thereof;

109 East, 1080.1 feet; North 00 degrees 40.14est 1583.92 feet, to the Northeast
corner of said Steinman tract, being on the North line of the Ift. Scott Upper
League;
THENCE, Easterly along the North line of the Wm. Scott Upper League
to the Southwesterly bank of Goose Creek Stream;
THENCE, Southeasterly with the Southwesterly bank of said Goose Creek
Stream, with its meanders to the North line of a 210.6 acre tract of land owned
or formerly owned by J. G. And Annie Schilling;
THENCE, Easterly with the North line of said 210.6 acre tract of land
owned or formerly owned by J. G. and Annie Schilling, over and across Garth Road,
and continuing with said North line of the Schilling tract to the West right -of-
way line of North Main Street;
THENCE, Southerly with the West right -of -way line of, North Main Street
to the point of intersection of said line with a Westerly extension of n line
which is parallelto and 100 feet North of the North right -of -way line of Bob

Cedar Bayou - Barbers Hill Road to the Northwest corner of the Cedar Bayou Meth-
odist Church tract, being also the Southwest corner of a 4.52 acre tract be-

THENCE, Easterly, Southerly, Easterly, Northerly, Easterly and South-
easterly with the Northerly property line of the Cedar Bayou Methodist Church
tract to the mean high tide line of the Iciest bank of Cedar Bayou Stream;
THENCE, Southerly with the mean high tide line of the West bank of
Cedar Bayou Stream, with its meanders, to the point of intersection of said
line with the South property line of Roseland Park, said point being the POINT
OF BEGINNING.

BEGINNING at the point of intersection of the West right -of -way line
of Harbor Street with the North line of the Houston Light & Power Company tract
in the City of Baytown, Ifn. Scott Upper League, Harris County, Texas, said
POINT OF BEGINNING being further described as situated South 32 degrees 19'
West a distance of 49.5 feet from the point of intersection of the aforesaid
street Kest right -of -way line and the North right -of -way line of Dayton Street,
and said point of intersection of said streets described as lying North 20 de-
grees 28' West a distance of 74.6 feet from the Northwest corner of Block One
in Airhart Addition, ft. Scott Upper League, Harris County, Texas, and said

included within the boundaries as set forth in Section 1 of this ordinance,
all actions and proceedings had by the governing body of the City of Pelly and
of the City of Baytown (the City of Baytown being successor City to the City
of Pelly).in annexing such territory and in taking over all the properties
and assets of said districts and in assuming all the debts and liabilities and
obligations of said districts and in abolishing said districts, are hereby in
all things ratified, confirmed and validated; and said territory is hereby re-
annexed, and said properties and assets are hereby re -taken over; and said
debts and liabilities and obligations are hereby re- assumed; and said districts
are hereby re- abolished.
Sect` ion 3: That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
forcb from and after its adoption. '
