Ordinance No. 3640 • •0 ORDINANCE NO. .3 (Q4 ® AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE'RATE AND TAX LEVY FOR THE CITY OF BAYTOM,. TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1957, *QPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY IN SAID CITY OF BAYT019N, TEXAS, IN CONFORMITY .WITH THE LA US OF TEXAS AND THE CHAR- TER PROVISIONS AND THE ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY; AND 'RE- PEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWM BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYT016N, TEXAS: SECTION 1: That there shall be and is hereby levied and shall be assessed and collected for the year ending September 30, 1957, an ad valorem tax of One and Seventy- Two /One Hundred ($1.72) Dollars on each One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars worth of property located within the present city limits of the City of Baytown, made tax- able by law, which said taxes when collected shall be apportioned among the funds and departments of City Government of the City of Baytown and for the purpose hereinafter • set forth as follows, to -wit: For the General Fund $1.50 For the purpose of paying the accuring interest and to provide a sinking fund for the payment of the bonded indebted- ness of the City of Baytown .22 SECTION 2: The ad valorem tax rate of One and Seventy - Two /One Hundred ($1'.72) Dollars as set forth in Section 1, above, is hereby levied and shall be asses- sed and collected on only Fifty (50 %) per cent of Each One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars worth of property located within Baytown as valued by the Equalization Board for the City of Baytown, and made taxable by law. SECTION 3 :. The City Tax Assessor and Collector of the City of Baytown is . hereby directed to asses, extend and enter upon the tax rolls of the City of Baytown. Texas, for; the current year, the amounts and rates herein levied, and keep a correct .account of same, and when so collected, the same to be deposited in the depository of the City of Baytown, to be distributed in accordance with this ordinance. SECTION 4 :_ All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. 'BEAD, ADOPTED and APPROVED by the affirmative vote of a majority of the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, at a regular meeting held at the City Hall on the 13th day of September, 1956. R.
