AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING MURNS ANDF-
® DECLARING RESULTS OF A SPECIAL ADDI-
TIONAL FEDERAL PUBLIC HOUSING ELECTION
M IN THE CITY OF BAYTONNN, TEXAS, ON
MARCH 24 1956
IMEREAS, there was held in the City of.Baytown, Texas, on the 24th
day of March, 1956, an election at which was submitted to the duly qualified
resident electors of said City who own taxable property, for the purpose of
approving or disapproving additional Federal Public Housing, not to exceed
One Hundred and Fifty (150) units, for the City of Baytown.
ViHEREAS, there were cast at said election 1,875 votes, of which
number there were cast:
® FOR ADDITIONAL FEDERAL HOUSING, not to exceed 150 Units:
1,018 votes
AGAINST ADDITIONAL FEDERAL PUBLIC HOUSING
857 Votes;
as shown in the official election returns heretofore submitted to this City
Council and filed with the City Clerk; Therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY,COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS;
THAT said election was duly called and notice thereof given in ac-
cordance with law; that said election was held in the manner required by law;
that due returns of said election have been made by the proper officials; that
® said election has resulted favorably to additional Federal Public Housing for
the City of Baytown, and that a majority of the qualified voters voting at
said election have voted for the additional Federal Public Housing set forth
on the ballot.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by an affirmative vote of a majority of
the City Council of the City of Baytown on this the 4th day of April, A. D.,
1956.
