OF bAYTOWN PROVIDING FOR THE RE- DISTRICTING OF
THE CITY OF DAYTOWN AS PROVIDED oY SECTION 17,
ARTICLE II OF THE CHARTER.OF THE CITY OF
nAYTOWN; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION
AND THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS,the City Charter of the City of zaytown, under Section 17,
Article II, provides that the City shall be divided into six (6)
districts according to population for election purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council heretofore has provided for six (6)
districts within the City of Baytown; and
WHEREAS, the enactment of Ordinance No. 234, passed by the City
Council on the second and final reading on Octolier 7, 1954, annexed
certain territory to the City; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisalle at this time that the said City
'tee re- districted so as to provide for this newly annexed territory,

BE IT ORDAINED zY THE CITY COUJ,'IL OF THE CITY OF i;�AYTOWN:
SECTION 1: THAT the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby
divides the City of Baytown into six (6) election districts as follows:
DISTRICT NO. 1
BEGINNING the West side of Oklahoma Street where it joins the alley
south of Michigan Street;
THE N✓E North on Oklahoma Street to center of Michigan Street;
THEZE Westerly on center of Michigan Street to.center of Nevada Street;
THENCE Northerly on center Nevada Street to center Market Street Road;
THE ZE in a Northwesterly direction to Southeast side of the Humble
Oil and Refining Railroad Spur;
THE ME in a Southwesterly direction along the Southeast side railroad
track to Baytown City limits;
THEI\CE in a Northwesterly direction along the Baytown City limits to
the Southwest corner of Defense Plant Corporation 58.299 acre tract;
THE ME Easterly along the Southerly line of Defense'Plant Corporation
tract to West line of Houston North Shore Railroad:
THENCE Southerly 11 deg. 43 min. West with the West line of the Houston
North Shore Railroad to a point;
THENCE over and across the Houston North Shore Railroad right -of -way
continuing in a Southeasterly direction to the North line of the
Houston Light 8 Power tract;
THENCE continuing Southeasterly to the intersection of Lynchburg Road
and west side.Airhart Drive;
THEIICE Northeasterly on the West side of Airhart Drive following the
Humble Oil & Refining Company property line to the Southwest side of
Decker Drive;

SECTION 2: THAT this ordinance shall take effect immediately from
and after its passage and that the City Clerk is hereby directed to
publish the caption of the ordinance once in the official newspaper of
the City of Baytown.

of the members of the City Council of the City of Baytown on this 6th
