Ordinance No. 253r � ORDINANCE NO. 253 • AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 9, PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN ON THE 26TH DAY OF FEBRUARY; 1948, WHICH PROHIBITS THE SALE OF FIREWORKS WITHIN THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, SHALL NOT APPLY NOR SHALL BE EFFECTIVE AS TO ANY TERRITORY AND /OR PROPERTY ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAYTO'16N DURING THE CALENDAR YEAR 1954; PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE AND DURATION THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: SECTION 1: THAT Section 1 of Ordinance No. 9, passed by the City Council of the City of Baytown on the 26th day of February, 1948, which prohibits the sale of fireworks within the City of Baytown, shall not apply nor shall be effective as to any territory and /or property annexed to the City of Baytown during the calendar year 1954. SECTION 2: THAT this ordinance shall take effect immediately and shall be 0 effective until midnight the 5th day of January 1955. It is expressly provided that this ordinance shall have no further force and effect after midnight the 5th day of January; 1955.
