Ordinance No. 156e . M ORDINANCE N0. 156 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE ENSUING FISCAL YEAR, BEGINNING OCTOBER 11 19521 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 301 1953s IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARTER AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE. WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Baytown has submitted to the City Council a budget estimate of the revenues of said city and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning October._l, 1952, and ending the 30th day of September 1953, and which said estimate has been compiled from detailed infomation obtained from the several departments, divisions and offices of the City, containing all of the information as required by the Charter of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, the City Council has received said City Manager's estimate and held a public hearing thereon as provided by Section 44 of the Charter; and WHEREAS, FURTHER, after a full and final consideration of the public hearing, it • is the opinion of the council that the budget as filed should be approved and adopted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: SECTION 1: That the budget estimate of the revenues of the City of Baytown and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning October 1, 1952, and ending September 30, 1953, as submitted to theCity Council by the City Manager of said city, be, and the same is, in all things adopted and approved as the budget estimate of all of the current expenses as well as the fixed charges against saidccity for the fiscal year beginning the 1st day of October, 1952, and ending the 30th day of September, 1953. SECTION 2: That the sum of Six Hundred Sixty -Two Thousand Six Hundred Seventy - -Four Dollars ($662,674.00) is hereby appropriated out of the general fund for -the paytient of operating expenses and capital outlay of the city government as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: General Government $228,830.62 Public Safety 138,320.00 Highways 124,321.80 Sanitation & Waste Removal 101,363.00 Conservation of Health 11,050.00 Recreation 6,500.00 Miscellaneous 337,745.00 Contingent Appropriation 14,543.58 TO $662,674.00 SECTION 3: That the sum of One Hundred Thirty -Nine Thousand Six Hundred One Dollars and-Forty Cents is hereby appropriated out of the water works for the operating expenses and capital outlay of the municipally owned water works as hereinafter itemized, 0 to -wit: • Supply Transmission & Distribution Customer's Accounting & Collecting Stores Total 0 9 $25,395.00 66, 606.10 360420.00 11,250.00 139,671.40 SECTION 4: That the sum of Sixty-Seven Thousand One Hundred Forty -Four Dollars ($67,144.00) is hereby appropriated out of the general debt service fund for the purpose of paying the accruing interest and redeeming the serial bonds as they mature, on the general debt service bonds as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: Serial Bond Maturities $38,000.00 Interest Payments 28,177.00 Exch4nge 667.00 Total $670-44-00 SECTION 5: That the sum of Forty -Nine Thousand One Hundred Eighty -One Dollars ($491l8l.00) is hereby appropriated out of the water works debt service fund for the • purpose of paying the accruing interest and redeeming the serial bonds as they mature, on the water works debt service bonds as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: Serial Bond Maturities $303000.00 Interest Payments 18,931.00 Exchange 250.00 Total $49,181.00 SECTION 6: That the sum of Thirteen Thousand Three Hundred Twenty -One Dollars ($13021.00) is hereby appropriated out of the traffic improvement fund for the operating expenses and capital outlay for traffic control an+provement as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: Salaries & Wages $ 71020.00 Supplies 33,200.00 Maintenance of Equipment 1,550.00 Miscellaneous Services 1,551.00 • Capital Outlay None Total $132321.00 SECTION 7: This ordinance shall be and remain in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval of the City Council, and it shall be published once each week for two consecutive weeks in some newspaper published in the City of Baytown.
