ORDINANCE NO. 155
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE RATES OF THE HOUSTON
NATURAL GAS CORPORATION IN THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, at the present time there is no ordinance regulating the rates charged
consumers by the Houston Natural Gas Corporation, and
WHEREAS, the City of Baytown and the Houston Natural Gas Corporation are anxious
to have a schedule of rates of recordi and
WHEREAS, said company and the City Council of the City of Baytown have agreed
to place the same rates in effect that are now effective;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT CRDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
SECTION 1: THAT the Houston Natural Gas Corporation is hereby authorized to
continue charging the following rates:

SPECIAL CONTRACTS:
These are made at the train office of the company.
The company may require a Ten ($10) Dollar deposit for residential or domestic
accounts.
The company may charge a tapping fee of Five Dollars and Fifty Cents (5.50) for
3/4" and 1 1/4" taps and Ten 410) Dollars for 2" taps.
SECTION 2: Savinga Clause. If any provision, exception, sections subsection,
paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance or the application of same
to any person or set of circumstances shall for any reason be held unconstitutional,
void, or invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining pro-
visions of this ordinance or their application to other persons or sets of circumstances
and to this end, all provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 3: THAT nothing in this ordinance shall be construed as in any manner
now and hereafter limiting or modifying the right and power of the City Council under
law to regulate the rates charged by the Houston Natural Gas Corporation for its
services within the City of Baytown, Texas.
SECTION 4: effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect immediately after
its passage by the majority of the City Council of the City ofiBaytown.
