The Mayor introduced,an ordinance which was read in full.
Councilman .E. W. Buelow made a motion that the ordinance be

ORDINANCE CALLING SPECIAL BOND ELECTION
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Baytown:
Section 1: That a special election shall be held in and through-

out the City of Baytown, Texas, on they , t; day of , ; I
1952, at which election there shall be submitted to the duly-quali-
fied resident electors of said City who own taxable property within
said City and who have duly rendered the same for taxation, for
their action thereupon, the following propositions, to -wit:

SHALL THE CITY.-COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF, BAYTOWN BE AUTHOR-.,
IZED TO ISSUE THE BONDS'OF SAID CITY IN THE PRINCIPAL
AMOUNT OF FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($480•, 000.00) ,
MATURING SERIALLY.WITHIN FORTY (40) YEARS FROM THEIR DATE
OR DATES, AND BEARING INTEREST AT A RATE NOT TO EXCEED
FOUR AND ONE -HALF PER CENT'(4 -1/2%) PER ANNUM, FOR THE PUR-
POSE OF IMPROVING, ENLARGING ' AND, EXTENDING THE CITY'S EXIST-
ING SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM, AND TO LEVY AN ANNUAL TAX SUFFI-
CIENT TO PAY THE INTEREST ON SAID BONDS AS IT ACCRUES AND
TO CREATE A SINKING FUND FOR THE REDEMPTION OF SAID BONDS
AS THEY MATURE.
PROPOSITION NO. TWO
SHALL THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN BE AUTHOR-
IZED TO ISSUE THE BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE PRINCIPAL
AMOUNT OF FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS
($525,000-00),--MATURING-
525,000.00);- MATURING SERIALLY WITHIN FORTY (40) YEARS
FROM THEIR DATE OR DATES, AND BEARING INTEREST AT A RATE
NOT TO EXCEED FOUR AND ONE -HALF PER CENT-- (4 -1/2%) PER AN-
NUM, FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPROVING, ENLARGING AND EXTEND -
ING -THE CITY'S EXISTING WATERWORKS SYSTEM,_ AND TO LEVY AN
ANNUAL TAX SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE INTEREST ON SAID BONDS AS
IT ACCRUES AND TO CREATE A SINKING FUND FOR THE REDEMPTION
OF SAID BONDS AS THEY MATURE.
Section 2: That said election-shall be conducted and held in the
several election precincts of the City of Baytown -, heretofore estab-

osition.
Section 4: That said election shall be held in' accordance with
the Constitution and general laws of the State of Texas and only
duly qualified resident electors of said City who own taxable prop-
erty within said City and who have duly rendered the same for taxa-
tion shall be qualified to vote.
Section 5: That notice of said election shall be given by post-

ing a copy of a notice containing a substantial copy -of this ordi-
nance4at the City Hall- -and in each of the-el•ection precincts of 'the
City not less than fourteen (14) days prior to the date on which
said election is to be held, and by publication thereof on the same
day in each of two successive weeks in a newspaper published in the
English language and of general circulation within said City, the
first of said publications to be made not later than fourteen (14)
days prior to the date set for said election.
