Ordinance No. 133ORDINANCE NO. 133 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING "AN ORDINANCE LICENSING THE DRILL- ING OF OIL AND GAS WELLS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS; REGULATING THE DRILLING AND OPERATION OF SUCH WELLS WITHIN THE CITY; REPEALING ORDI- NANCES INCONSISTENT HEREIWTH; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED ($200.00) DOLLARS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF ", BEING ORDINANCE NO. 120 PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN ON THE 10TH DAY OF JULY, 1951) BY ADDING TO SECTION 11 THEREOF ONE ADDITIONAL PRO- VISION MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO REMOVE ANY CASING FROM ANY WELL, SAID ADDITIONAL PROVISION SHALL -BE KNOWN AS "(X)t', AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: SECTION 1. THAT Section 11 of said Ordinance No. 120 shall' be amended as follows: iImmediately following sub - section "(w)" of Section 11 of said Ordinance No. 120, there shall be and is hereby added sub - section "(x) ", to-wit: "(x) No surfage casing whatsoever and no more than Five Hundred feet (500 ft.) of Five and one -half inch (5211) or seven inch (711) casing shall be removed from any well within the City of Baytown. Any 5� inch or 7 inch pipe that is re -. moved must be removed by a pipe cutter working from the inside of any such pipe, and no shooting of the pipe will be allowed." SECTION 11. THAT all the terms and provisions of said Ordinance No. 120 passed by the City Council of the City of Baytown on the 10th day of July, 1951, are hereby continued in full force and effect and any person violating any of the terms of the ordinance shall be subject to the penalties provided therein. • SECTION 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10) day from its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordiunce to be -bub1- lished in the official newspaper of the City of Bayotwn at least twice prior to the effective date hereof.
