Ordinance No. 1301 U L� ORDINANCE NO. 130 ORDINANCE - CANVASSING RETURNS AND DE- CLARING RESULTS OF SPECIAL BOND ELECTION THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF HARRIS The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, convened in R=iIAr session at the City Hall within said City on the 28th day of November, 1951, with the following members present, to -wit: J. A. Ward Mayor W. E. Buelow Councilman, District 1 R. B. Bergeron Councilman, District 2 H. M. Campbell Councilman, District 3 M. L. Campbell Councilman, District 4 W. D. Reeves Councilman, District 5 R. H. Pruett Councilman, District 6 Mrs. Edna Oliver City Clerk when the following business was transacted: The Mayor introduced an.prdinance which was read in full. Councilman M. L. Campbell made a motion that the ordinance be adopted as read. The motion was seconded by Councilman Bergeron and carried by the following vote: AYES: Mayor Ward, Councilmen:Buelow, Bergeron, Campbell, Campbell, Reeves and Pruett. NOES,: None. The ordinance thus adopted follows: ORDINANCE CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULTS OF SPECIAL BOND ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,_ ON NO.�EMBEE-- 2'0 -,, 1951. WHEREAS, there was held in the City of Baytown, Texas, on the 24th day of No- vetber, 1951, an election at which was submitted to the duly qualified resident electors of said City who own taxable property within said City and who had duly rendered the same for taxation the following propositions, to -wit: PROPOSITION NO. ONE SHALL THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN BE AUTHOR- IZED TO ISSUE THE BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($480,000.00), MATURING SERIALLY WITHIN FORTY (40) YEARS FROM THEIR DATE OR DATES, AND BEARII(G INTEREST AT A RATE NOT TO EXCEED FOUR AND ONE -HALF PER CEk�* .(4 -1/2%) PER ANNUM, FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPROVING, ENLARGING AND EXTENDING THE CITY'S EXISTING SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM, AND TO LEVY AN ANNUAL TAX SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE INTEREST ON SAID BONDS AS IT ACCRUES AND TO CREATE A SINKING FUND FOR THE REDEMPTION OF SAID BONDS AS THEY MATURE. .f a r n L] • and ® • PROPOSITION NO. TWO SHALL THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN BE AUTHOR- IZED TO ISSUE THE BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($525,000.00), MATURING SERIALLY WITHIN FORTY (40)-YEARS FROM THEIR DATE OR DATES, AND BEARING INTEREST AT A RATE NOT TO EXCEED FOUR AND ONE -HALF PER CENT (4 -1/2%) PER ANNUM, FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPROVING, ENLARGING AND EXTENDING THE CITY'S EXISTING WATERWORKS SYSTEM, AND TO LEVY AN ANNUAL TAX SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE INTEREST ON SAID BONDS AS IT ACCRUES AND TO CREATE A SINKING FUND FOR THE REDEMPTION OF SAID BONDS AS THEY MATURE. PROPOSITION NO. THREE SHALL THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN BE AUTHOR- IZED TO ISSUE THE BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($500,000.00), MATURING SERIALLY WITHIN FORTY (40) YEARS FROM THEIR DATE OR DATES, AND BEARING INTEREST AT A RATE NOT TO EXCEED FOUR AND ONE - HALF PER CENT (4- 1 /2%)'PER ANNUM, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CON- STRUCTING STORM SEWERS'FOR SAID CITY, AND TO LEVY AN ANNUAL TAX SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE INTEREST ON SAID BONDS AS IT AC- CRUES AND TO CREATE A SINKING FUND FOR THE REDEMPTION OF SAID BONDS AS THEY MATURE. PROPOSITION NO. FOUR SHALL THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN BE AUTHOR- IZED TO ISSUE THE BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($500,000.00), MATURING SERIALLY WITHIN FORTY (40) YEARS FROM THEIR DATE OR DATES, AND BEARING INTEREST AT A RATE NOT TO EXCEED FOUR AND ONE - HALF PER CENT (4 -1/2%) PER ANNUM, FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE CONSTRUCTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE ROADS, BRIDGES AND STREETS WITHIN SAID CITY, AND TO LEVY AN ANNUAL TAX SUF- FICIENT TO PAY THE INTEREST ON SAID BONDS AS IT ACCRUES AND TO CREATE A SINKING FUND FOR THE REDEMPTION OF SAID BONDS AS THEY MATURE; WHEREAS, there were cast at said election 1,373 vote of which number there were cast: PROPOSITION NO.
