ORDINANCE NO. 129
AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAMES OF TWO (2) STREETS
,. WITHIN THE CITY OF BAYTOWN SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR
GREATER STREET -NAME UNIFORMITY; AND PROVIDING FOR
THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, there is a conflict in certain street names within the 8ity of
Baytown; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown deems it advantageous to
correct this conflict as soon as possible; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1: THAT the length of street between Market Street and Johnston
Street, now-named "Lincoln Drive ", is hereby changed to and shall hereafter be
named and known as "Carnegie Street."
Section 2. THAT the length of street between the west end of Woodlawn
where said Woodlawn turns from a westerly direction to a northerly direction and
the most northerly end of said northerly length of street shall hereafter be
named and known as "Strickland Street."
Section 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. THAT this ordinance shall take effect immediathly
upon its passage by the Council.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of a majority of the
City Council of the City of Baytown on this 8th day of November, 1951.
