TO PROCEED WITH CONTRACT DRXffINGS AND DOCUMENTS AMID AUTHORIZING THE PABONT OF THE .ENGINEERING FEE DUE UPON APPROVAL OF THE PREL13A7 `IARY ENGINEERING REPORT IN ACCORDANCE 7-ITH CONTRACT BETIYEEN THE CITY OF BAYTO17N AND JOE J. RADY DATED JANUARY 22, 1951. iI ZRFAS, the City of Baytown, Texas made application to the General Services Administration - Community Facilities Service for an advance for Plan Preparation for Non Federal Public Works in accordance vrith Public Lay; 352, 81st Congress of the United States to finance the preparation of plans, specifications and contract documents for Water Works Improvements; and WHEREAS, the Federal Agency has approved an advance of $5910.00 for the above purpose; and W 3REAS, in accordance with the terms of the advance, the said City of Bay- town contracted with Joe J. Rady, Consulting Engineer of Fort Worth, Texas, to perform the Engineering Services required to prepare the necessary plans, speci- fications and contract documents; and WHEREAS, the contract with the said Joe J. Rady, Consulting Engineer, • included that he submit and receive approval from the City Council of the City of Baytown of a Preliminary Engineering Report stating the problem and its solution, including cost estimates, prior to preparation of detailed drawings, specifications and contract documents; and WHEREAS, the said Consulting Engineer has submitted nine copies of the Preliminary Engineering Report to the City Council of Baytown, Texas, one copy to the Texas State Health Department, and one copy to the Community Facilities Service of the General Services Administration; and AREAS, the said Preliminary Engineering Report has been reviewed and discussed by the City Council of the City of Baytown in an open meeting; and WHEREAS, the said Preliminary Engineering Report indicates that the best solutidh'of Water Works requirements for the City for the next twenty- five (25) years can best be served by constructing additions to the existing Water Works System at the total project cost of $525,000.00; and WHEREAS, the City has investigated and found that it can finance this amount of improvement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1. That the said Preliminary Engineering Report be and is hereby accepted and approved; Section 2. That the said Joe J. Rady, Consulting Engineer, be and is hereby instructed to proceed with the preparation of the necessary plans, specifications and contract documents for the construction of the improvements recommended in the Preliminary Engineering Report; Section 3. That the said E-n;ineer submit and receive approval of the plans, specifications and contract documents from the necessary State authorities and the Community Facilities Service of the General Services Administration before submitting them to the City; Section 4. That the said Joe J. Rady be paid his fee amounting to $1485.00 due upon approval of the Preliminary Engineering Report for Project 41-P-1045 in accordance with the Contract he has vrith the City.
