ORDINANCE NO. 123 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE ENBUING FISCAL ® YEAR, BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1951, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 50, 19529 IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARTER AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE. n LJ 0 0 WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Baytown has submitted to the City Council a budget estimate of the revenues of said city and the expense of conducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal yeas, beginning October 1, 1951, and ending the 30th day of September 1952, and which said estimate has been compiled from detailed information obtained from the several departments, divisions and offices of the City, containing all of the information as required by the Charter of the City of Baytown, and WHEREAS, the City Council has received said city manager's estimate and held a public hearing thereon as provided by Section 44 of the Charter; and WHEREAS4 FURTHER, after a full and final consideration of the public hear- ing, it is the opinion of the council that the budget as filed should be approved and adopted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: THAT the budget estimate of the revenues of the City of Bay- town and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning October 1, 1951, and ending September 30, 1952, as submitted to the City Council by the City Manager of said City, be, and the same is, in all things adopted and approved as the budget estimate of all of the cur- rent expenses as well as the fixed charges against city for the fiscal year beginning the 1st day of October, 1951, and ending the 30th day of September, 1952. Section 2: THAT the sum of $642,768.00 is.-hereby appropriated out of the general fund for the payment of operating expenses and capital outlay of the city government a s hereinafter itemized, to -wit: General Government__._ Public Safety Highways Sanitation and Waste Removal Conservation vi health Recreation iiiscei ane0tis Contigent Appropriation TOTAL $231 955.00 124 865.00 119 131.00 97 312.00 10--450.00 15 785.00 30 070.00 13,200.00 $ 642 768.00 Section 3: THAT•the sum of $ 140 322.00 is hereby appropriated out of the waterworks fund'for the operating expenses and capital outlay of the municipality owned water works -as hereinafter itemized, to -wit; Contingent $ 11,050.00 Supply 23,925.00 Transmission and Distribution 75,687.00 Customer's Accounting and Collecting 20,010.00 Stores 9,650.00 TOTAL $ 140,322.00 Section 4: THAT the sum of $ 67 966.00 is hereby appropriated out of the general debt service fund for the purpose of paying the accruing interest and redeeming the serial bonds as they mature, on the general debt service bonds as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: 0 E 11 Serial Bond Maturities Interest Payments Exchange • $ 38 000.00 29 916.00 50.00 Total $ 67.966.00 Section 5: THAT the sum of $ 48 714.00 is hereby appropriated out of the water works debt service fund for the purposes of paying the accruing in- terest and redeeming the serial bonds as they mature, on the water works debt service bonds as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: $ 29 000.00 Serial Bond Maturities 19 679.00 InterestPhi�nents 35.00 Exchange TOTAL $$ 48 714.00 Section 6: THAT the sum of $ 10 035.00 is hereby appropriated out of the traffic improvement fund for the operating expenses and capital outlay for traffic control and improvement as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: Salary and Wages Supplies Maintenance of Equipment Miscelleanous Service Capital Outlay Contingent 3 420.00 1 085.00 1 550.00 1 275.00 2 500.00 20 .00 TOTAL $ 10,035.00 Section 8: THIS ordinance shall be and remain in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the City Council, and it shall be published once each week for two consecutive weeks in some newspaper pub- - lished in the City of Baytown. READ, ADOPTED and APPROVED by at least a majority of the City Council at a regular meeting held at the City Hall in the City of Baytown on the 19th day of September, A. D., 1951.
