Ordinance No. 800 ORDINANCE NO. g_ AN ORDIMNCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE "LICENSING THE DRILLING OF OIL AND GAS WELLS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYT01+N, TEXAS; REGUTATING THE DRILLING AND OPERATION OF SUCH MIS VJTTHIN THE CITY; REPEALING ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT THEREWITH; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PRESCRIBING A PENALTY;; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HER.ECF," BEING ORDINANCE NO. 73 PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN ON THE 2ND DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1950, BY ADDING TO SECTION 11 THEREOF AN ADDITIONAL PROVISION FOR MUFFLERS ON ALL OIL WELL MACHINERY, WHICH PROVI- SION WILL BE 11(q)«; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICAN- TION AND EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTaVN: SECTION 1: That section 11 of said Ordinance No. 73 shall be amended as follows • Immediately following sub - section of Section 11 of said Ordinance No. 73, there shall be and is hereby added the following sub - section II(q)'f: 11(q) All motor machinery shall at all times be equipped with a muffler in good working order to prevent excessive noise, and no person, firm, or corporation shall use a muffler cut- out, by -pass, or straight exhaust on any motor machinery." SECTION 2: That all the terms and provisions of the said Ordinance No. 73 passed by the City Council of the City of Baytown on the 2nd day of February, 1950, are hereby continued in full force and effect and any person violating any of the terms of the ordinance shall be subject to the penalties provided therein. SECTION 3: Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect from and • after ten (10) days from its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice prior to the effective date hereof.
