Ordinance No. 680_RD 114A NCE NO. 68 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING 11N ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR RULES AND REGUTATIONS FOR THE EXTENSION OF SANITARY SEWER MAINS AMID LINES IN THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; CON- TAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREV ITH, AND PROVIDING, FOR THE EFFEC- TIVE DATE THEREOF", BEING ORDINANCE N0. 43 PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTO1WN ON THE 3RD DAY OF t%RCH, 1949; PROVIDING FOR A CHANGE IN THE TAPPING FEE CHARGE FROM A FIAT TWENTY -FIVE ($25.00) DOLIAR FEE TO A TWENTY -FIVE ($25.00) DOLLAR CHARGE FOR A 4 -INCH TAP AND THIRTY -FIVE ($35.00) DOLLARS FOR A 6 -INCH TAP, AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: SECTION 1: THAT Section 1 of said Ordinance No. 43 shall be amended and as amended shall read as follows: "SECTION 1: Extensions up to 100 feet. Upon request of the owner, or his agent, of a given lot or tract of n , the City of Baytown shall ex- tend, lay or construct all necessary sanitary sewer mains, lines and appur= tenances a distance of 100 feet measured from the point where the existing main or line terminates to the nearest boundary line of said lot or tract of land. The words "existing main or-line" as used herein mean the mains or lines of the City as they exist at the effective date of this ordinance. The expense of extending, laying or constructing said mains or lines shall be borne wholly by the City of Baytown, however, the person or persons desiring such extension shall be required to pay a tapping fee charge of Twenty--Five Dollars ($25.00) for a 4 -inch tap and Thirty -Five Dollars ($35.00) for a 6 -inch tap before connections shall be made to the extended line. The owners of all intervening property thereafter served by said extension shall likewise be required to pay a tapping fee charge of Twenty -Five Dol- lars ($25.00) for a 4 -inch tap and Thirty -Five Dollars ($35.00) for a 6 -inch tap at such time as their property is connected to the main or lines thus laid. n SECTION 2: THAT Section 3 of said Ordinance No. 43 shall be amended-. and after being so amended shall read as follows: "SECTION 3: Installation of Service Lines. In areas where property is ® platted into lots and blocks, an where extensions are being made beyond the 100 feet furnished without cost by the City as provided in Section 2 above, the City will install, and advance the cost thereof, service lines from the main line to the respective lots adjoining said line. The owners, or their agents, of such adjoining lots shall be required to pay a fee of Twenty -Five Dollars ($25.00) for a 4 -inch tap and Thirty -Five Dollars ($35.00) for a 6 -inch tap before connections are made from the service line to the main extension." SECTION 3: THAT except as herein amended said Ordinance No. 43 passed by the City Council of the City of Baytown on the 3rd day of March, 191 9, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 4: Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
