Ordinance No. 58ORDINANCE NO ,Y� ® AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE ENSUING FISCAL YEAR, BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1949, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 301 1956, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARTER AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE. TffMREAS, the City Manager of the City of Baytown has submitted to the City Council a budget estimate of the revenues of said city and the expenses of conduct - 5a ing the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning October 1, 1949, and ending the 30th day of September 1956, and which said estimate has been compiled from detailed information obtained from the several departments, divisions and offices of the city, containing all of the information as required by the Charter of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, the City Council has received said city manager's estimate and held a • public hearing thereon as provided by Section 44 of the Charter; and WHEREAS, FURTHER, after a full and final consideration of the public hearing, it is the opinion of the council that the budget as filed should be approved and adopted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: SECTION 1: That the budget estimate of the revenues of the City of Baytown and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning October'l, 1944, and ending September 30, 19561'as submitted to the City Council by the City Manager of said city, be, and the same is, in all things adopted and approved as the budget estimate of all of the current expenses as well as the fixed charges against said city for the fiscal year beginning the lst day of October, 194 and ending • the 30th day of September, 1950. SECTION 2. That the sum of $ 390,157 is hereby appropriated out of the general fund for the payment of operating expenses and capital outlay of the city government as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: General Government $ 42j240 Public Safety 105,790 Highways 92,530 Sanitation and Taste Removal 103;,3'22 Conservation of Health 9,500 Recreation 3,200 Miscellaneous 27,075 Contingent Appropriation 6,500 Total 901 SECTION 3. That the sum of $ 154,160 is hereby appropriated out of the water • works fund for the operating expenses and capital outlay of the municipal],y owned water works as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: \� SUPAY Transmission and Distribution Customer's Accounting and Collecting Stores Total • s 21,890 101,100 20,780 10,390 U154 2=0 SECTION 4: That the sum of $67,692 is hereby appropriated out of the general debt service fund for the purpose of paying the accruing interest and redeeming the serial bonds as they mature, on the general debt service bonds as hereinafter itemized, to-wit: ( Serial Bond Maturities ( Interest Payments ( Exchange Total $ 675692 SECTION 5: That the sum of $6 49,500 is hereby-appropriated out of the water works debt service fund for the purpose of paying the accruing interest and redeeming the • serial bonds as they mature, on the water -works debt service bonds as hereinafter itemized, to-wilt: ( Serial Bond Maturities ( Interest Payments ( Exchange Total $ 49,500 SECTION 6: That the sum of $ 8,980 is hereby appropriated out of the swimming pool fund for the operating expenses and capital outlay of the municipally owned swimming pool as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: Salaries and Wages $ 61680' Supplies 725 Maintenance of band 200 Maintenance of Structures 200 Maintenance of Equipment 200 Miscellaneous Services 975 Capital Outlay Total $p 8,980 SECTION 7: That the sum of $ 30,281 is hereby appropriated out of the traffic improvement fund for the operating expenses and capital outlay for traffic control and improvement as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: Salaries and Wages 35300 Supplies 4.86 Maintenance of Equipment 350 Miscellaneous Services 845 Capital Outlay 25,300 Total 30,281 SECTION 8: This ordinance shall be and remain in1full force and'effect from and after its passage and approval by the City Council, and it shall be published once each vreek for two consecutive weeks in some newspaper published in the City of Baytown. -2- u READ, ADOPTED and APPROVED by at least a majority of the City Council at a regular meeting held at the City Hall in the City of Baytown on the day of September, A.
