AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 13 OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR THE RENEVAL AND REENACT-
MENT OF CHARGES FOR CITY SERVICES IN RE1AOVING AND DIS-
POSING OF GARBAGE AND REFUSE FROM HOUSES, BUILDINGS
AND PREMISES USED FOR RESIDENTIAL PURPOSES, PROVIDING
FOR A REPEALING CLAUSE AND THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:,
Section 1: That Ordinance No. 13, of the city council of the City of Bay tovm
passed tay 27, 1948 as amended on the 1st day of July, 1948 by Ordinance No. 16,
and as amended by Ordinance No. 40 passed by the city council of the City of Baytown
on February 17, 1919, be amended by adding the following section:
"Section 10:
• (b) That the charges and fees for city services in removing
and disposing garbage and refuse from houses, buildings and premises used
for residential purposes provided for in Section 6 hereof shall be renewed
and reenacted for an additional period of twelve (12) months from Sep-
tember-1, 1949.rl
Section 2: That the purpose and intent of this ordinance in reneging and re-
enacting the said charge for city garbage service is to enable the city to more
effectually perform its governmental function of sanitation for the public welfare.
Section 3: That all the other terms and provisions of said Ordinance No. 13
of the City of Baytown, as amended on the 1st day of July 1948, by Ordinance No. 16,
are hereby continued in full force and effect, and any person violating any of the
terms of the ordinance as amended, shall be subject to the penalty provided therein.
Section 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
• hereby pepealed.
Section 5:: This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten days from its
passage by the city council. The city clerk is hereby directed to give notice
hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official news-
paper of the City of Baytown at least twice prior to the effective date hereof.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of a majority of the City
Council of the City of Baytown on this the 1st day of September, A. D., 1949.
