AN ORDINANCE CREATING AN ADVISORY PUBLIC HEALTH BOARD;
REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREKTH AND PROVI-
DING MR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTO`N:
Section 1: Board created; composition; term, organizations compensation.
There is hereby created an Advisory Public Health Board, which shall consist of
five members, who shall be appointed by the City Manager and who shall serve at
the pleasure of the City Manager. Said board shall be composed of two (2) physi-
cians, one (1) dentist, one (1) veterinarian and one (1) lay citizen of the city.
It may organize by electing its own officers, and the City Clerk will render such
assistance to the board as may be necessary in keeping a record of its proceed-
ings. The members thereof shall serve without compensation.
Section 2: Duties. The Advisory Public Health Board shall act in an ad-
visory capacity to the governing body, the City Manager and the Director of
Health, and shall make recommendations and suggestions upon such matters as may
be submitted to said board by the governing authorities and the City officials of
the City of Baytown.upon matters relating to public health.
Section 3: Repealing Clause. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con-
flick herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4: Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect from and after
• the date of its passage.
