AN ORDINANCE AMENDING "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING
THE COLLECTION OF GARLtha AND REFUSE WITHIN
THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; PROVIDING THE SIZE OF CON-
TAINERS; ESTABLISHING A FEE FOR THE RESIDENTIAL
COLLECTION AND PROVIDING A METHOD OF BILLING
AND COLLECTING SUCH FEE." WHICH ORDINANCE V& S
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAY —
TOWN ON THE 27th DAY OF "SAY 1948, BY CHANGING
THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF SAID ORDINANCE FROM JULY
1, 1918 TO AUGUST 1, 1948.
Whereas, on the 27th day of belay, 1948, the City of Baytown adopted
an ordinance regulating the collection of garbage and refuse within the
city of Baytown and establishing a feu for the collection of such garbage,
• Section 17 of said ordinance providing that the provisions thereof shall
take effect July 1, 1948, and whereas) the City Council desires to amend
said ordinance with respect to the effective date thereof;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1. That the effective date of the ordinance herein above
referred to is hereby changed from July 1, 1,048'to August 1, 1948, said
change being made by amending the first sentence of Section 17 thereof
to read as followrsi "Section 17. This ordinance shall take effect on
August 1, 1948.11
Section 2. It is expressly provided that said ordinance is not
altered, amended or changed in any manner except as expressly stated in
• Section 1 hereof and the six months period referred to in Section 10
of said ordinance shall begin on the lst day of August, 1948 rather than
on the first day of July 1948.
Introduced, read, and passed by the affirmative vote of a majority
of the City Council of the City -of Baytown, Texas, on this the lst day
of July, 1948.
