ORDINANCE NO..11
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE OPERATION OF ANY CARNIVAL
':'irITHIN THE CITY LTJAITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTWN; PRO-
VIDING FOR MAXIMUM PENALTY OF $100.00 FOR VIOLATION
AND FOR EFFECTIVE DATE TH EREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTUNN:
SECTION 1: THAT it shall be unlawful to operate, hold, sponsor or run a
carnival or its subsidiary shows, concessions, amusements and businesses within
the city limits of the city of Baytown. Each person aiding or- abetting in the
operating or holding of a carnival or its subsidiary shows, concessions, amuse-
ments and businesses shall be equally guilty of violation of this ordinance.
SECTION 2: THAT any person guilty of violating any provision of this
• ordinance shall be fined not to exceed $100.00.
SECTION 3:• THAT this ordinance shall not apply to street or school fairs
or shows and their subsidiary amusements, composed of local people for purely
local charitable purposes.
SECTION 4: THAT this ordinance shall take effect upon and after the
passage of ten days from date hereof. The city clerk is hereby directed to
give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in
the official newspaper in the City of Baytown at least twice within ten days
from and after the date hereof.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of a majority of the
• city council of the City of Baytown, Texas on this the 10th day of March, 1948.
