AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING I`H-E PAYMENT OF AN ANNUAL ASSESSMENT TO THE
HARRIS COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT FOR APPRAISAL SERVICES FOR THE
2019 TAX YEAR IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED TWENTY-
THREE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTY-FIVE AND N0/100 DOLLARS
($223,865.00); MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND
PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.

WHEREAS, each taxing unit participating in the Harris County Appraisal District (the "District")
is assessed for a portion of the operations budget of the District in accordance with Section 6.06 of the
Texas Tax Code; and
WHEREAS, each taxing unit is obligated to pay its allocation in four equal payments with the
first such payment being due before December 31, 2018; and
WHEREAS, the City of Baytown has been billed for its first quarterly payment in the amount of
FIFTY-FIVE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED NINETY-SIX AND N0/100 DOLLARS
($55,996.00); and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize funding for all quarterly payments for tax year
2019 in an amount not to exceed TWO HUNDRED TWENTY-THREE THOUSAND EIGHT
HUNDRED SIXTY-FIVE AND N0/100 DOLLARS ($223,865.00); NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes the payment of
an annual assessment to Harris County Appraisal District for appraisal services for the 2019 tax year in an
amount not to exceed TWO HUNDRED TWENTY-THREE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTY-
FIVE AND N0/100 DOLLARS ($223,865.00).
Section 2: That the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve a decrease
or an increase in costs of FIFTY THOUSAND AND N0/100 DOLLARS ($50,000.00) or less, provided
that the amount authorized in Section 1 may not be increased by more than twenty-five percent (25%).
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown.
