A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE BAYTOWN AREA WATER
AUTHORITY REJECTING THE BIDS RECEIVED FOR THE BAWA REIIABILITATION OF
4,500,000 GALLON TANKS PROJECT; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.

WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Baytown Area Water Authority advertised for bids for the
BAWA Rehabilitation of 4,500,000 Gallon Tanks Project to be received on July 24, 2018; and
WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the contract would be let was
published in accordance with law; and
WHEREAS, the five bids received were opened and publicly read in the Council Chambers of the Baytown
City Hall at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, as per published notice to bidders; and
WHEREAS, the five bids received by the Baytown Area Water Authority significantly exceeded the
engineer's estimate; and
WHEREAS, the BAWA staff recommends that the bids received be rejected; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE BAYTOWN AREA WATER
AUTHORITY:
Section 1: That the Board of Directors of the Baytown Area Water Authority hereby rejects the bids
received for the BAWA Rehabilitation of 4,500,000 Gallon Tanks Project.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the Board of
Directors of the Baytown Area Water Authority.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED, by the affirmative vote of the Board of Directors of the Baytown
Area Water Authority this the 19th day of September, 2018.
