A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE
FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY FOR THE U.S.
DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY'S FY 2018 PORT SECURITY GRANT
PROGRAM ON BEHALF OF THE BAYTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT IN THE
AMOUNT OF TWO HUNDRED SIXTY-TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND
N0/100 DOLLARS ($262,500.00); AUTHORIZING A CASH MATCH IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED EIGHTY-SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND
NO/100 DOLLARS ($87,500.00); AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO
ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM;
AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to make
application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the U.S. Department of Homeland
Security's FY 2018 Port Security Grant Program on behalf of the Baytown Fire Department in the
amount of TWO HUNDRED SIXTY-TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND NO/100 DOLLARS
($262,500.00) for the purchase of a fixed -pump fire boat with marine firefighting and rescue/recovery
capabilities.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes a cash match in
an amount not to exceed EIGHTY-SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND N0/100 DOLLARS
($87,500.00) pursuant to the grant referenced in Section 1 hereof.
Section 3: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for
all purposes under the grant.
Section 4: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or
affirm any grant award that may result from the above application.
Section 5: This resolution shall take effect immediately m and after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown.
