CC Resolution No. 2522RESOLUTION NO. 2522 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, NAMING THE BAYTOWN EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER IN MEMORY OF ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF BERNARD OLIVE, JR.; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. ********************************************************************************* WHEREAS, Assistant Fire Chief Bernard Olive, Jr., provided nearly five decades of dedicated service to the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, Assistant Fire Chief Olive was a strong leader and was instrumental in establishing a regional emergency operations center that served not only the City of Baytown but regional emergency operations including the Baytown Local Emergency Planning Committee as well as both Harris and Chambers Counties; WHEREAS, the Baytown Local Emergency Planning Committee has submitted a facility naming application requesting that the Baytown Emergency Operations Center be named the "Bernard Olive, Jr., Emergency Operations Center"; and WHEREAS, naming such facility in memory of Assistant Fire Chief Olive would be an appropriate gesture to honor his lifelong contribution to the City and its citizens; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby names the Baytown Emergency Operations Center as the "Bernard Olive, Jr., Emergency Operations Center" in memory of Assistant Fire Chief Olive's dedication and years of service to the City and its citizens. Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately frog and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
