A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE U.S.
DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY FOR A RESTORE ACT GRANT IN THE AMOUNT
OF ELEVEN MILLION AND NO100 DOLLARS ($11,000,000.00) FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW BUILDING AT THE BAYTOWN NATURE CENTER
TO ALLOW THE GROWTH OF EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND ECOTOURISM;
DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE; AUTHORIZING THE
REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY
RESULT THEREFROM; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to make
application to the U.S. Department of Treasury for a RESTORE Act Grant in the amount of ELEVEN
MILLION AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($11,000,000.00) for the construction of a new building at the
Baytown Nature Center to allow the growth of education programs and ecotourism.
Section 2: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for
all purposes under the grant.
Section 3: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or
affirm any grant award that may result from the above application.
Section 4: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown. /7
