2011 05 23 FCPEMSD Minutes, SpecialMINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE BAYTOWN FIRE CONTROL, PREVENTION AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES DISTRICT May 23, 2011 The Board of Directors of the Baytown Fire Control, Prevention and Emergency Medical Services District (FCPEMSD) met in a Special Meeting on Monday, May 23, 2011, at 10:30 A.M., in the Council Chamber of the Baytown City Hall, 2401 Market Street, Baytown, Texas with the following in attendance: Brenda Bradley Smith President John Adkins Vice- President Randy Casey Director Lovella Desormeaux Director Kevin Troller Assistant General Manager Ignacio Ramirez, Sr. General Counsel Leticia Brysch Secretary President Bradley Smith convened the May 23, 2011, Fire Control, Prevention and Emergency Medical Services District (FCPEMSD) Board Special Meeting with a quorum present at 10:30 A.M., all members were present with the exception of Directors Baldwin, Hightower, and Watts. 1. REPORTS a. Canvass the May 14, 2011, Baytown FCPEMSD Continuation Election - Secretary. President Bradley Smith presented the agenda item to canvass the returns of the Baytown Fire Control, Prevention, and Emergency Medical Services District (FCPEMSD) continuation election held on May 14, 2011. PROPOSED RESOLUTIONS a. Consider Declaring the Results of the May 14, 2011, Baytown FCPEMSD Continuation Election - Secretary. President Bradley Smith presented the agenda item and stated that Resolution No. 17 declares the results of the Baytown Fire Control, Prevention, and Emergency Medical Services District (FCPEMSD) continuation election held on May 14, 2011. A motion was made by Vice President John Adkins and seconded by Director Lovella Desormeaux approving Resolution No. 17. The vote was as follows: Ayes: Vice President John Adkins, Director Randy Lee Casey, Director Lovella Desormeaux, President Brenda Bradley Smith Nays: None Other: Director Gerald Baldwin (absent), Director Ryan Hightower (absent), and Director Maurice Watts (absent) Approved RESOLUTION NO. 17 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE BAYTOWN FIRE CONTROL, PREVENTION, AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES DISTRICT CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE CONTINUATION ELECTION HELD WITHIN THE DISTRICT'S BOUNDARIES ON THE 14TH DAY OF MAY, 2011, FOR THE PURPOSE OF VOTING FOR OR AGAINST THE PROPOSITION OF WHETHER THE BAYTOWN FIRE CONTROL, PREVENTION, AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES DISTRICT SHOULD BE CONTINUED FOR FIVE (5) YEARS AND WHETHER THE FIRE CONTROL, PREVENTION, AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES DISTRICT SALES AND USE TAX SHOULD Bl"., CONTINUED 1700.
