CC Resolution No. 2476RESOLUTION NO. 2476 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY FOR THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY'S FY 2017 PORT SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM ON BEHALF OF THE BAYTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF TWENTY-SEVEN THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED FIFTY -SDC AND 25/100 DOLLARS ($27,656.25); AUTHORIZING A CASH MATCH IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED NINE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED EIGHTEEN AND 75/100 DOLLARS ($9,218.75); AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. ************************************************************************************* BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to make application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's FY 2017 Port Security Grant Program on behalf of the Baytown Police Department in the amount of TWENTY-SEVEN THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED FIFTY-SIX AND 25/100 DOLLARS ($27,656.25) for the purchase of diving suits and equipment for the DIVE component of the Bay Area Regional Bomb Squad. Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes a cash match in an amount not to exceed NINE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED EIGHTEEN AND 75/100 DOLLARS ($9,218.75) pursuant to the grant referenced in Section 1 hereof. Section 3: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for all purposes under the grant. Section 4: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or affirm any grant award that may result from the above application. /J Section 5: This resolution shall take effect City Council of the City of Baytown.
