Ordinance No. 13,344ORDINANCE NO. 13,344 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF ONE HUNDRED SIXTY -EIGHT THOUSAND AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($168,000.00) TO KNAPP CHEVROLET, THROUGH THE HOUSTON- GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) 201612017 CHEVROLET C3500 6.6 -LITER DIESEL CHASSIS AND FRAZER TYPE 1 12' GENERATOR POWERED MODULE FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT; MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. ********************************************************* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown has approved an Interlocal Agreement which authorizes the Houston - Galveston Area Council to take bids for certain items on behalf of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, pursuant to such agreement, the Houston - Galveston Area Council has taken bids for two one (1) 2016/2017 Chevrolet C3500 6.6 -liter Diesel Chassis and Frazer Type 1 12' Generator Powered Module for the Fire Department; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes the payment of ONE HUNDRED SIXTY -EIGHT THOUSAND AND N01100 DOLLARS ($168,000.00) to Knapp Chevrolet, through the Houston - Galveston Area Council for the purchase of one (1) 2016/2017 Chevrolet C3500 6.6 -liter Diesel Chassis and Frazer Type 1 12' Generator Powered Module for the Fire Department. Section 2: That pursuant to the provisions of Texas Local Government Code Annotated §252.048, the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve any change order involving a decrease or an increase in costs of FIFTY THOUSAND AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($50,000.00) or less, provided that the original contract price may not be increased by more than twenty-five percent (25 %) or decreased by more than twenty-five percent (25 %) without the consent of the contractor to such decrease.
