Ordinance No. 504Iie I• . 0 0 ORDINANCE NO. 504 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE ENSUING FISCAL YEAR, BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1958, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1959. IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARTER AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE. WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Baytown has submitted to the City Council a budget estimate of the revenue of said City and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning October 1, 1958, and ending the 30th day of September, 1959, and which said estimate has been compiled from detailed information obtained from the several departments, divisions and offices of the City, containing all the information as required by the Charter of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, the City Council has received said City Managers estimate and held a public hearing thereon as provided by Section 44 'of the Charter; and WHEREAS FURTHER, after a full and final consideration of the public hear- ing, it is the opinion of the Council that the budget as filed should be approved and adopted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: SECTION 1: That the budget estimate of the revenues of the City of Baytown, and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning October 1, 1958, and ending September 30, 1959, as submitted to the City Coiincil by the City Manager of said City, be, and the same is, in all things adopted and approved as the budget estimate of all the current expenses as well as the fixed charges against said City for the fiscal year beginning the 1st day of October, 19580 and ending the 30th day of September, 1959, SECTION 2: That the sum of One Million � Eight Thousand Six Hundred Thirty Nine ($1;0' ,639;00) Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the general fund for the payment of operating expenses and capital outlay of the City Government as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: General Government Public Safety Highways Sanitation & Water Removal Conservation of Health Recreation Miscellaneous 150 77 0 a_� $198,470:00 $332,672.00 f1" 560:00 $134,761.00 $ 31,430.00 $ 41,750.00 $ 89,996.00 SECTION 3: That the sum of Four Hundred Thirteen Thousand One Hundred Fifty ® Three ($4132153.00) Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the water works for operating expenses and capital outlay of the municipally owned water works as here- inafter itemized, to -wit: I• to is 9 Supply Transmission & Distribution Customers' Accounting & Collecting Stores Sewage & Sewage Disposal Waterworks Interest & Sinking Fund 0 $ 47,290.00 $106,233.00 $ 53,085.00 $ 191,701.00 $ 67,718.00 $119,126.00 SECTION 4: That the sum of One Hundred Fifteen Thousand One Hundred Seventy Eight ($115,178.00) Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the General Interest & Sinking Fund for the purpose of paying the accruing interest and re- deeming the serial bonds as they mature, on the general debt service bonds as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: Serial Bond Maturities Interest Payments Exchange $ 53,000.00 (33) $61,928.00 $ 2.50.00 SECTION 5: That the sum of Ninety Four Thousand One Hundred Seven ($94,107) Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the water works Interest & Sinking fund for the purpose of paying the accruing interest and redeeming the serial bonds as they mature, on the water works debt service bonds as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: Serial Bond Maturities $ 42,000.00 Interest Payments (16) $ 51,857.00 Exchange $ 250.00 SECTION 6: This ordinance shall be and remain in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval of the City Council, and it shall be pub- lished once each week for two consecutive weeks in some newspaper published in the City of Baytown. READ, ADOPTED and APPROVED by at least a majority of the City Council at the regular meeting held at the City Hall in the City of Baytown on this the 28th day of August, 1958.
