Ordinance No. 797-AORDINANCE NO. 797 AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING ORDINANCE NO. 797, INTRODUCED THE 25TH DAY OF MAY, 1966, AND BEING, "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXA- TION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 2.4 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN," PROVIDING FOR THE FINAL PASSAGE OF SAID ORDINANCE PURSUANT TO ARTICLE I, SECTION 9, OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAYTOWN: Section 1: That pursuant to Article I, Section 9, of the City Charter, said Ordinance No. 797, introduced to the City Council of the City of Baytown, on the 25th day of May, 1966, in its original form shall read as follows: ORDINANCE NO. 797 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 2.4 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS. WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the following described territory: BEGINNING at a point on the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown, said point being more fully described as the intersection of the South right -of -way line of U. S. Highway 90 and the East right -of- way line of the Bohemian Hall Road; THENCE, in a Southerly direction along the East right -of -way line of the Bohemian Hall Road, a distance of 10,560 feet to a point; THENCE, in a Westerly direction, perpendicular to the East right -of -way line of Bohemian Hall Road, a distance of 10 feet; THENCE, in a Northerly direction 10 feet from and parallel to the East right -of -way line of Bohemian Hall Road, a distance of approximately 10,554 feet to a point on the line formed by the extension of the South right -of -way line of U. S. Highway 90 across the intersection of Bohemian Hall Road; THENCE, in an Easterly direction along the said line formed by the exten- sion of the South right -of -way line of U. S. Highway 90 across the intersection of Bohemian Hall Road, a distance of approximately 11.55 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. was held at 6:30 o'clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Baytown, Texas, on the 12th day of May, 1966, which date is not more than twenty days nor less than ten days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings; and fi. WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Baytown, Texas, and in the above described territory on the 2nd day of May, 1966, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing; and WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Baytown, Texas, on the first day of January, 1966, was 15,169.85 acres; and WHEREAS, the population of the City of Baytown, Texas, is 38,423 inhabitants; and WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Baytown, Texas; and WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Baytown, Texas; and WHEREAS, the above described territory contains approximately 11.55 feet of land; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: The following described land and territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Baytown, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Baytown, Texas, and the said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the present boundary limits of such City, at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, to -wit: BEGINNING at a point on the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown, said point being more fully described as the intersection of the South right -of -way line of U. S. Highway 90 and the East right -of -way line of the Bohemian Hall Road; THENCE, in a Southerly direction along the East right -of -way line of the Bohemian Hall Road, a distance of 10,560 feet to a point; THENCE, in a Westerly direction, perpendicular to the East right -of -way line of Bohemian Hall Road, a distance of 10 feet; THENCE, in a Northerly direction, 10 feet from and parallel to the East right -of -way line of Bohemian Hall Road, a distance of approximately 10,554 feet to a point on the line formed by the extension of the South right -of -way line of U. S. Highway 90 across the intersection of Bohemian Hall Road; THENCE, in an Easterly direction along the said line formed by the exten- sion of the South right -of -way line of U. S. Highway 90 across the intersection of Bohemian Hall Road, a distance of approximately 11.55 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. Section 2: The above described territory and the area so annexed shall be a part of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City of Baytown, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges t of all the citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the City of Baytown, Texas. Section 3: This ordinance shall be published and passed in the manner provided in Article 1, Section 9 of the Charter of the City of Baytown, Texas.
