AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING ORDINANCE NO. 809, INTRODUCED THE 25TH DAY OF
AUGUST, 1966, AND BEING, "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF
CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXA-
TION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 4.8 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID
TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF
THE CITY OF BAYTOWN," PROVIDING FOR THE FINAL PASSAGE OF SAID ORDINANCE
PURSUANT TO ARTICLE I, SECTION 9, OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That pursuant to Article 1, Section 9, of the City Charter, said
Ordinance No. 809, introduced to the City Council of the City of Baytown, on the
25th day of August, 1966, in its original form shall read as follows:

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF
THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY
CONSISTING OF 4.8 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO
AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, where all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard
on the proposed annexation of the following described territory, to -wit:
TRACT ONE
BEGINNING at a point on the existing City limits line of the City of Baytown,
said point being more fully described as being on the West right -of -way line
of Farm Market Road No. 2354 at a distance 19,800 feet South of Interstate
Highway 10;
THENCE, in a Southerly direction along the West right -of -way line of said
Farm Market Road No. 2354, a distance of 10,560 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE, in an Easterly direction perpendicular to the West right -of -way line
of Farm Market Road No. 2354, a distance of 10 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE, in a Northerly direction 10 feet from and parallel to the West right -
of -way line of Farm Market Road No. 2354 a distance of 10,560 feet to a
point for corner on the existing City limit line;
THENCE, in a Westerly direction along the existing City limits line, a dis-
tance of 10 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
TRACT TWO
BEGINNING at a point on the existing City limits line of the City of Baytown,
said point being more fully described as being on the Easterly right -of -way
line of Farm Market Road No. 2354, also known as the Tri -City Beach Road, a
distance of 31,620 feet along said road from the point where the mean high
tide line of the Westerly shoreline of Ash Lake intersects the Northeasterly
right -of -way line of Tri -City Beach Road; said distance being measured along
the Northerly right -of -way line of Tri -City Beach Road for 10,560 feet, then
crossing to the Southerly right -of -way line, and continuing along the Southerly
and Southeasterly right -of -way line for the remaining 21,060 feet;
THENCE, in a Northerly direction along the Southeasterly and Easterly right -
of -way line of Tri -City Beach Road, a distance of 10,560 feet to a point for
corner;
THENCE, in a Westerly direction, perpendicular to the Easterly right -of -way
line of Tri -City Beach Road, a distance of 10 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE, in a Southerly direction 10 feet from and parallel to the Easterly
and Southeasterly right -of -way line of Tri -City Beach Road, a distance of
10,560 feet to a point for corner on the existing City limit line;
THENCE, in an Easterly direction along the existing City limit line, a dis-
tance of 10 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
was held at 6:30 o'clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the
City of Baytown, Texas, on the 11th day of August, 1966, which date is not more
than twenty days nor less than ten days prior to the institution of annexation
proceedings; and
WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper having
general circulation in the City of Baytown, Texas, and in the above described
territory on the 1st day of August, 1966, which date is not more than twenty nor
less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing; and
WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Baytown, Texas, on the first
day of January, 1966, was 15,169.85 acres; and
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Baytown, Texas, is 34,423 inhabitants;
and
WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extraterritorial
jurisdiction of the City of Baytown, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City
of Baytown, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the above described territory contains 4.8 acres; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: The following described land and territory lying adjacent to and
adjoining the City of Baytown, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of
Baytown, Texas, and the said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be
included within the boundary limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the present
boundary limits of such City, at the various points contiguous to the area herein-
after described, are altered and amended so as to include said area within the
corporate limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, to -wit:
TRACT ONE
BEGINNING at a point on the existing City limits line of the City of Baytown,
said point being more fully described as being on the West right -of -way line
of Farm Market Road No. 2354 at a distance 19,800 feet South of Interstate

TRACT TWO
BEGINNING at a point on the existing City limits line of the City of Baytown,
said point being more fully described as being on the Easterly right -of -way
line of Farm Market Road No. 2354, also known as the Tri -City Beach Road, a

line of Tri -City Beach Road, a distance of 10 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE, in a Southerly direction 10 feet from and parallel to the Easterly
and Southeasterly right -of -way line of Tri -City Beach Road, a distance of
10,560 feet to a point for corner on the existing City limit line;
THENCE, in an Easterly direction along the existing City limit line, a distance
of 10 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
Section 2: The above described territory and the area so annexed shall be a
part of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the property so added hereby shall bear
its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City of Baytown, Texas, and the inhabi-
tants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the
citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations
of the City of Baytown, Texas.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be published and passed in the manner provided
in Article 1, Section 9 of the Charter of the City of Baytown, Texas.
