BAWA Resolution No. 2016-07RESOLUTION NO. 2016 -07
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE BAYTOWN AREA WATER
AUTHORITY REJECTING THE BID RECEIVED FOR THE BAWA CHEMICAL FEED
PROJECT; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Baytown Area Water Authority advertised for bids for the
BAWA Chemical Feed Project to be received on January 28, 2016; and
WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the contract would be let was
published in accordance with law; and
WHEREAS, the one bid received was opened and publicly read in the Council Chambers of the Baytown
City Hall at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 28, 2016, as per published notice to bidders; NOW THEREFORE
WHEREAS, the one bid received by the Baytown Area Water Authority exceeded the engineer's estimate;
and
WHEREAS, the BAWA staff recommends that the bid received be rejected and the project be advertised
again for competitive bids; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE BAYTOWN AREA WATER
AUTHORITY:
Section 1: That the Board of Directors of the Baytown Area Water Authority hereby rejects the bid
received for the BAWA Chemical Feed Project.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the Board of
Directors of the Baytown Area Water Authority.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED, by the affirmative vote of the Board of Directors of the Baytown
