Ordinance No. 841-AORDINANCE N0. 841 -A AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING ORDINANCE NO. 841;A, INTRODUCED THE 9TH DAY OF NOVWiBER, 1966, AND BEING, "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THIN EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXA- TION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 72.64 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS." PROVIDING FOR THE FINAL PASSAGE OF SAID ORDINANCE PURSUANT TO ARTICLE I, SECTION 9, OF THE CHART" OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: That pursuant to Article I, Section 9, of the City Charter, said Ordinance No. 841, 1.ntroduced to the City Council of the City of Baytown, on the 9th day of November, 1966, in its original form shall, read as follows: ORDINANCE NO. 841 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 72.64 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS. WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Count +l of the City of Baytown, Texas, where all lntexested person:, were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the follow ag described territory, to-wit: BEGINNING at a poi.nt on the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown, said point being mo:a fully described as the point of intersection of the South right-of-way line of Baker Roai and the Easterly right -of -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad; THENCE, Easterly along the South right- of-way line of Baker Road to the South- west right -of -way line of State Highway Spur 330 (Decker Driva); THENCE, Southeasterly along the Southwest right -of -way line of Ststa Highway Spur 330 to a point of intersection with the North line of the Texan Eastern Transmission Corporations 18.62 acre tzact annexed December E, 1960; THENCE, Westerly along the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown to a point on the westerly property line of the Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation property; THENCE, In a Northeasterly, North and Northwesterly direction along the West- erly property line of the Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation property, the same being the Easterly and Northeasterly line of the East Canal of the San Jacinto P.iver Project, to a point of intersection with the Easterly right - of -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad; THENCE, in a Northeasterly direction along the "AAterly right -of -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad, being also the Westerly property ling of the Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation property, to a point of Intersection with the South right -of -way line of Baker Road, the same being the existing City limit 3ne of the City of Baytown and the POINT OF BEGINNING. was held at 6;30 o'clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Baytown, Texas, on the 27th day of October, 1966, which date is not more than twenty days nor less than tan days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings; and WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Baytown, Texas, and in the above described territory on the 16th day of October, 1966, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing; and WHEREAS, the total corporatearea of the City of Baytown, Texas, on the first day of January, 1966, was 15,169.85 acres; and WHEREAS, the population of the City of Baytown, Texas, is 34,423 inhabi- tants; and WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Baytown, Texas; and WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Baytown, Texas; and WHEREAS, the above described territory contains 72.64 acres; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS; Section 1: The following described land and territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Baytown, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Baytown, Texas, and the said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the bounsary limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the present boundary limits of the City, at the various points contiguous to the ar!a hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as to tncluae said area within the corporate limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, to -wit: BEGINNING at a point on the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown, said point being more fully described as the point of intersection of the South right -of -way line of Baker Road and the Easterly right -of -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad; THENCE, Easterly along the South right -of -way line of Baker Road to the South- west right -of -way line of State Highway Spur 330 (Decker )rl..v ); THENCE, Southeasterly along the Southwest right -of -way line of State Highway Spur 330 to a point of ? ntersection with the North line of the Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation's 18.62 acre tract annexed December 8, 1960; THENCE, Westerly along the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown to a point on the Westerly property line of the Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation property; THENCE, in a Northeasterly, North and Northwesterly direction along the Gest- arly property line of the Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation property, the same being the Easterly and Northeasterly line of the East Canal of the San Jacinto River Project, to a point of intersection with the Easterly right - of -way line of the Missouri Pacific F.a`_lroad; THENCE, in a Northeasterly direction along the P.asterly right -of -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad, being also the Westerly property line of the Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation property, to a point of intersection with the South right -of -way line of Baker Road, the same being the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown and the POINT OF BEGINNING. Section 2: The above described territory and the area so annexed shall be a part of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the property so added hereby $hall bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City of Baytown, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the City of Baytown, Texas. Section 3: This ordinance shall be published and passed in the manner provided in Article 1, Section 9 of the Charter of the City of Baytown, Texas.
