CC Resolution No. 2355RESOLUTION NO. 2355 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE ACTING CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES FOR THE FY2016 EMS LOCAL PROJECTS GRANT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF TWELVE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($12,500.00); AUTHORIZING A CASH MATCH IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY -SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($57,500.00); DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE; ASSURING PROPER USE AND MAINTENANCE OF GRANT FUNDS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. ****************************************************** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** WHEREAS, the purpose of the Local Projects Grant Program (the "Program ") is to support and improve the development of the Texas Emergency Health Care System and to increase the availability and quality of emergency pre - hospital health care; and WHEREAS, the Program provides money and technical assistance to eligible vendors for reimbursement of approved costs; and WHEREAS, the grant if authorized will fund the purchase of two (2) cardiac monitors for the Fire Department; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the Acting City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to make application to the Texas Department of State Health Services for the FY2016 EMS Local Projects Grant Program in the amount of TWELVE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND N01100 DOLLARS ($12,500.00) to purchase two (2) cardiac monitors. Section 2: That pursuant to the terms of the EMS Local Projects Grant, the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes a cash match in an amount not to exceed FIFTY -SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND N01100 DOLLARS ($57,500.00). Section 3: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for all purposes under the grant, including the acceptance, affirmation, rejection or alteration of any grant award that may result from the above application. Section 4: This resolution shall take effect immediately from City Council of the City of Baytown.
