AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, APPROVING A BUDGET AMENDMENT TO THE FISCAL YEAR
2014 -15 BUDGET SUBMITTED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
BAYTOWN FIRE CONTROL, PREVENTION, AND EMERGENCY
MEDICAL SERVICES DISTRICT; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREOF.

WHEREAS, on the 15'' day of July, 2014, after considering the proposed budget
together with the testimony and information received at the public hearings, the Baytown Fire
Control, Prevention and Emergency Medical Services District (the "District ") adopted its 2014-
15 budget; and
WHEREAS, on the 28`h day of August, 2014, the City Council, after holding a public
hearing to consider the budget adopted by the Board of Directors of the District (the "Board "),
approved the District's 2014 -15 fiscal year budget; and
WHEREAS, on the 21" day of April, 2015, the Board approved an amendment to the
District's 2012 -13 fiscal year budget in order to reprogram (i) ONE HUNDRED THIRTY -NINE
THOUSAND SEVENTY -FIVE AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($139,075.00) from the Contingency
and Radio & Testing Equipment Accounts to the Motor Vehicles Account for the purchase of a
2015 Chevrolet C3500 Diesel Chassis with a Frazer Type 1 12' Box and (ii) TEN THOUSAND
AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($10,000.00) from the Contingency Account to the Elections Account
for expenditures related to election services for the Baytown Fire Control, Prevention, and
Emergency Medical Services District's continuation election to be held on Tuesday,
November 3, 2015; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 344.205(f) of the Texas Local Government Code
together with the procedures enacted by the Board for adopting a budget, the City Council must
approve the amendment in order for the same to be in effect; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, after considering the submitted
budget amendment believes that the amendment approved by the Board is consistent with the
interest of the residents of the District; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That all matters and facts set forth in the recitals hereinabove are found to
be true and are approved by the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas hereby approves the
amendment to the 2014 -15 fiscal year budget of the Board of the Baytown Fire Control,
Prevention, and Emergency Medical Services District, which amendment is attached hereto as
Exhibit "A" and is incorporated herein for all intents and purposes for the District's 2014 -15
fiscal year.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately and after its passage by
the City Council of the City of Baytown.

1. Reprogramming of contingency funds is necessary to cover District's costs with its joint election agreement w /City of Baytown
for election services.
2. The quote for the 2015 Frazer Chassis came in higher than anticipated; another line item was identified with projected excess
budget. The transfer will enable Fire to complete the purchase of the ambulance chassis.
