CC Resolution No. 2318RESOLUTION NO. 2318 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR THE 2014-2015 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS; DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE; AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the 2014-2015 Community Development Block Grant Funds are sources of federal revenue that are made available to local community development programs for use in providing decent housing, providing a suitable living environment, and expanding economic development opportunities for low - to -moderate -income persons; and WHEREAS, the Baytown Community Development Program (the "Program") is eligible for such funds and desires to apply for a grant; and WHEREAS, the Community Development Advisory Committee and City Administration have made recommendations as to the amounts of funds and the types of programs for which the City of Baytown should apply; and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the recommendation; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: The City Council hereby approves the budget and authorizes the City Manager to make application to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development for 2014-2015 Community Development Block Grant Funds for the amounts and programs described in Exhibit "A," which is attached hereto and incorporated herein for all intents and purposes. Section 2: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for all purposes under the grant. Section 3: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or affirm any grant award that may result from the above application. Section 4: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after ig passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas.
