AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
APPROVING THE SECOND RENEWAL OF THE ANNUAL LIQUID ZINC SODIUM
POLYPHOSPHATE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BAYTOWN AREA WATER
AUTHORITY AND SHANNON CHEMICAL CORPORATION; MAKING OTHER
PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREOF.

WHEREAS, the Baytown Area Water Authority's enabling legislation requires that the City
Council approve contracts before the Baytown Area Water Authority enters into the same; and
WHEREAS, via Resolution No. 2024-33, the Board of Directors of the Baytown Area Water
Authority authorized the Liquid Zinc Sodium Polyphosphate Agreement with Shannon Chemical
Corporation on September 18, 2024 (the "Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, on September 16, 2026, the Board of Directors of the Baytown Area Water
Authority met and approved the second renewal of the Liquid Zinc Sodium Polyphosphate Agreement
with Shannon Chemical Corporation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown now desires to approve the same; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby approves the Second
Renewal of the Annual Liquid Zinc Sodium Polyphosphate Contract between the Baytown Area Water
Authority and Shannon Chemical Corporation.
Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Baytown.
