HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 16,557 (Item 7.a.)ORDINANCE NO. 16,557 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE SECOND RENEWAL OF THE ANNUAL MOSQUITO CONTROL CHEMICALS CONTRACT WITH ADAPCO, LLC, CLARKE MOSQUITO CONTROL PRODUCTS, INC., AND TARGET SPECIALTY PRODUCTS; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT BY THE CITY OF BAYTOWN IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND AND NO100 DOLLARS ($200,000.00); MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the Annual Mosquito Control Chemicals Contract was awarded to the following companies for the items noted on June 27, 2024: ADAPCO, LLC Item Description of Awarded Item 12 VectoBac WDG, biological larvicide, granule, 25 lb. drum 13 Fyfanon ULV insecticide Malathion 96.5% 260 gallon tote 14 ;Adulticide ReMoa Tri, triple action fenpropathrin 4.0% 2. Clarke Mosquito Control Products, Inc. Item Description of Awarded Item 9 Liquid Larvicide Oil, 10% mineral oil, 2.5 gallon container 10 Adulticide, Zenivex E20 Etofenprox 20%, 30 gallon drum 11 Biological larvicide, Duplex-G, 40 lb bag 16 Larvicide, Altosid XR-G Ultra, Methoprene, 40 lb bag 3. Target Specialty Products Item Description of Awarded Item 1 Ready to use pyrethroid with synergist, 4%-8%, 275 gallon tote 2 Pre -mixed item, pyrethrin with synergist, 5%-25%, 30 gallon drum 3 Carrying oil for pyrethroid mix, 275 gallon tote 5 Mosquito larvicide growth regulator granular, 21 day Altosid XR-G, 40 lb bag 6 Mosquito larvicide growth regulator pellets (WSP): 30 day Altosid WSP, 800 pouches per case 7 Mosquito larvicide growth regulator liquid (SR-5) 5% methoprene, 1 gallon container 8 Biological mosquito larvicide Bti liquid, 8% minimum, 2.5 gallon container 15 Adulticide Deltamethrin 2.0%, 30 gallon drum WHEREAS, such contract may be renewed for an additional one-year term; WHEREAS, each of the above -referenced companies has indicated its willingness to renew the contract for an additional year; and WHEREAS, the Administration has reviewed the market conditions and recommends renewal as being in the best interest of the City; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section l: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby renews the Annual Mosquito Control Chemicals Contract with ADAPCO, LLC, for the following items: Item Description of Awarded Item 12 VectoBac WDG, biological larvicide, granule, 25 Ib. drum 13 Fyfanon ULV insecticide Malathion 96.5% 260 gallon tote 14 Adulticide ReMoa Tri, triple action fenpropathrin 4.0% Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby renews the Annual Mosquito Control Chemicals Contract with Clarke Mosquito Control Products, Inc., for the following items: Item Description of Awarded Item 9 Liquid Larvicide Oil, 10% mineral oil, 2.5 gallon container 10 Adulticide, Zemvex E20 Etofenprox 20%, 30 gallon drum 11 Biological larvicide, Duplex-G, 40 lb bag 16 Larvicide, Altosid XR-G Ultra, Methoprene, 40 lb bag Section 3: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby renews the Annual Mosquito Control Chemicals Contract with Target Specialty Products for the following item: Item Description of Awarded Item 1 Ready to use pyrethroid with synergist, 4%-8%, 275 gallon tote 2 Pre -mixed item, pyrethrin with synergist, 5%-25%, 30 gallon drum 3 Carrying oil for pyrethroid mix, 275 gallon tote 5 Mosquito larvicide growth regulator granular, 21 day Altosid XR-G, 40 lb bag 6 Mosquito larvicide growth regulator pellets (WSP): 30 day Altosid WSP, 800 pouches per case 7 Mosquito larvicide growth regulator liquid (SR-5) 5% methoprene, 1 gallon container 8 Biological mosquito larvicide Bti liquid, 8% minimum, 2.5 gallon container 15 Adulticide Deltamethrin 2.0%, 30 gallon drum Section 5: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes payment in an amount not to exceed TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($200,000.00) for the above -referenced items for the Annual Mosquito Control Chemicals Contract. 2 Section 6: That pursuant to the provisions of Texas Local Government Code Annotated §252.048, the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve any change order involving a decrease or an increase in costs of FIFTY THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($50,000.00) or less, subject to the provision that the original contract price may not be increased by more than twenty-five percent (25%) or decreased by more than twenty-five percent (25%) without the consent of the contractor to such decrease. Section 7: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passageby the City Council of the City of Baytown.
