A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE AN APPLICATION TO THE
DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR 2026-2027
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF
NINE -HUNDRED, EIGHTY-SEVEN THOUSAND, FOUR -HUNDRED, EIGHTY-SIX
AND NO/100 ($987,486.00); AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT
OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AND
PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to make an
application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for 2026-2027 Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, in the amount of NINE -HUNDRED, EIGHTY-SEVEN
THOUSAND, FOUR -HUNDRED, EIGHTY-SIX AND NO/100 ($987,486.00).
Section 2: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for all
purposes under the grant.
Section 3: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or
affirm any grant award that may result from the above application.
Section 4: That in the event of loss or misuse of the grant funds, the City Council of the City
of Baytown hereby assures HUD that such grant funds will be returned in full.
Section 5: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the City of
Baytown this the 23rd day of July, 2026.
