HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 3099 (Item 8.d)RESOLUTION NO. 3099 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY'S FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) FOR THE FY2025 ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM (AFG) FOR THE PURCHASE OF A 2,500-GALLON FIRE TANKER TRUCK ON A COMMERCIAL MEDIUM OR HEAVY-DUTY CHASSIS FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($500,000.00); DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE; AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to make application to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the FY2025 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG) for the purchase of a 2,500-gallon fire tanker truck on a commercial medium or heavy-duty chassis for the Fire Department, in an amount not to exceed FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($500,000.00). Section 2: That pursuant to the terms of the grant referenced in Section 1 hereof, there is a cash match requirement in an amount not to exceed FORTY-FIVE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY-FOUR AND 55/100 DOLLARS ($45,454.55) to be funded by the Baytown Fire Control, Prevention, and Emergency Medical Services District (FCPEMSD), if approved by their Board of Directors. Section 3: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for all purposes under the grant. Section 4: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or affirm any grant award that may result from the above application. Section 5: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
