A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
APPOINTING COUNCIL MEMBER LAURA ALVARADO AS MAYOR PRO TEM;
AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, on the 14"' day of July, 2011 the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas passed
resolution No.2145 establishing the procedural guidelines for the election of the Mayor Pro Tem; and
WHEREAS, on the 26'day of June,2025 the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas passed
resolution No. 3011 amending the procedural guidelines for the election of the Mayor Pro Tem; and
WHEREAS, on the 12' of March, 2026 the City Council of the City of Baytown conducted the
election for the Mayor Pro Tem; and
WHEREAS,Councilmember Laura Alvarado stated at the meeting that she understands and agrees
to fulfill all the duties and responsibilities of the office of Mayor Pro Tem. NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1: Laura Alvarado is appointed to serve as the Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Baytown
with a term expiring on December 31, 2026.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Baytown.
