RESOLUTION NO. 3082 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE FOUR (4) APPLICATIONS TO HARRIS COUNTY PRECINCT 2 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026 CALL FOR PARTNERSHIP PROJECT GRANTS ON BEHALF OF THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT;DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE; AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. ****************************************************************************** WHEREAS,the City of Baytown is a city with residents who are also constituents of Harris County Precinct 2; and WHEREAS, both entities share the goal of improving the experiences of their shared constituents living and working in the City of Baytown and Harris County Precinct 2; and WHEREAS,the projects listed below represent critical infrastructure that serves the shared goals of the City of Baytown and Harris County Precinct 2: • Jenkins Park Bike and Pedestrian Accessibility/Safety Improvement Project o $1,200,000 HCPCT2 request; $451,100 in local match: $1,651,000 total; and • Bayland Island Marina Dredging and Improvements o $850,000 HCPCT2 request; $300,000 in local match: $850,000 total; and • Fire Station#4 Construction o $12,000,000 HCPCT 2 request; $4,250,000 in local match: $16,250,000 total, and • Annual Asphalt Street Project. o $12,000,000 HCPCT 2 request: $20,000,000 in local match: $32,000,000 total. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby approves and authorizes the City Manager to make four (4) applications to Harris County Precinct 2 for Fiscal Year 2026 Call for Partnership Project Grants on behalf of the Public Works and Engineering Department for Jenkins Park Bike and Pedestrian Accessibility/Safety Improvement Project, Bayland Island Marina Dredging and Improvements, Fire Station #4 Construction, and Annual Asphalt Street Project. Section 2: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for all purposes under the grants, including the acceptance, affirmation, rejection, alternation or termination of any grant award that may result from the above applications. to submit four partnership applications seeking funding in the amount of $26,050,000 with Harris County Precinct 2 for Fiscal Year 2026 as listed above and commits to a total of$25,001,100 in this goal. Section 3: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or affirm grant awards that may result from the above applications. Section 4: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
