AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 16335 WHICH GRANTED A SPECIAL USE
PERMIT (SUP) TO ALLOW FOR SHORT-TERM RENTAL USE IN THE SUBURBAN
RESIDENTIAL (SR) ZONING DISTRICT, LOCATED AT 5111 ASHWOOD DRIVE,
ON AN APPROXIMATELY 0.28 ACRE PARCEL, LEGALLY DESCRIBED LOT 5
BLOCK 16 COUNTRY CLUB OAKS SECTION 5, BAYTOWN, TEXAS 77521; TO
CHANGE THE EFFECTIVE DATE AND PROVIDE FOR PUBLICATION THEREOF.

WHEREAS, on December 11, 2025 the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas passed
Ordinance 16335 granting a Special Use Permit (SUP) to allow for short-term rental use in the suburban
residential (SR) zoning district, located at 5111 Ashwood Drive, on an approximately 0.28 acre parcel,
legally described lot 5 block 16 Country Club Oaks Section 5, Baytown, Texas 77521, and provided for the
effective date and publication thereof; and
WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Baytown, Texas requires that notice be given of the passage
of every ordinance imposing a penalty, fine, or forfeiture for a violation of the provisions thereof, by causing
the caption or title, including the penalty, of any such ordinance to be published in the official newspaper
in the City of Baytown at least twice within ten days after the passage of such ordinance;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas now desires to amend Section 8 of
Ordinance 16335 to change the effective date of the ordinance to ensure compliance with the Charter of the
City of Baytown; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are hereby
found and declared by the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, to be true and correct.
Section 2: That Section 8 of Ordinance 16335 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 8: That this ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10) days after
February 12, 2026. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by
causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City
of Baytown at least twice within ten (10) days after February 12, 2026."
Section 3: The remaining provisions of Ordinance 16335 that are not amended herein shall
remain in full force and effect.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Baytown.
